Looking for more information from relatives in the US or Norway from my great-grandmother's family. Here's what I do know:The 1865 Census, gives her birth name as Ingeborg Mikkelsdatter Lien, her father is Mikkel Mikkelsen and her mother is Anne Andersdatter. Both she and her father were born in Sørde Aurdal...on the Lien farm in Bagn, Sør-Aurdal. Her mother, on the other hand, was born in Nordre Aurdal. In 1865, Ingeborg had 4 siblings, 3 older and 1 younger. Their names, in order from eldest to youngest, are: Ole Mikkelsen, Tøre Mikkelsdatter, Jøren Mikkelsdatter, [Ingeborg] and then Kari Mikkelsdatter. From a family history it says she had family that immigrated to Minnesota, but no names or where in Minnesota. |

I don't recognize the Lien name, but Ole Mikkelsen was also my Great Grandfather who was in Wisconsin and Minnesota in the 1800's. But we had Ole Mikkelsen Lunde and when he returned to Norway it was in Bagn, Sorde Aurdal and the family name was then changed to Rosenlund which means land of Roses.
