ok here is what I found about Roger Kuessy (Caissie) . He was 33 years old , this was in Beaubassin, and he testified in the trial of Jean Campagna who was accused of witchcraft 1684 and was arrested by Michel Hache dit Gallant who was ordered to do so by Michel Leneuf.Roger Kessy who was irish testified that in April Campagna received some booze from La Valliere, and came to see Roger at his home and asked to marry the daughter of Roger. Roger said he had to ask his wife first but she was in Monjagouetche and that he would get back to him with an answer.Well Marie Francoise wife of Roger refused knowing of the reputation of Jean Campagna. It was then that Campagna told her that in 8 days she would be sorry and regret it. She told him he couldn't do anything to her and she was not afraid.Eight days later four of Roger's cows became sick, three ready to give birth, two young oxen and a heifer. They were unable to eat. Roger Kessy asked Father Claude to come an bless their drinking water and hay . But it was no use.Governor La Valliere seeing Roger was on the verge of losing his animals went to see Campagna and told him he would run his sword through his body if any more accidents were to happen at Roger's home. Next morning Roger went to the barn and all the animals were up and they all went to the fields cured.Others who testified on Roger Kussy's behalf or on other witchcraft they believed Campagna was guilty of wereThomas Cormier age 50, his wife Madeleine Girouard age 31, Francoise Poirier, Isabelle Pellerin, Marie Gaudet .Pierre Godin testified that he was bewitched by Campagna but he told Campagna that he would do him a lot of harm if he continued and Campagna withdrew his spell.

more on Jean Campagna.Jean Campagna was detained for around nine months before the start of his trial. Andree Martin the widow of Francois Pellerin testified that in Port Royal sometimes in 1675, Campagna wanted to hit her, but she hit him with a stick because he was insulting a young girl (wonder who she was? ). Campagna told her that she would be sorry for hitting him. Then three years later when Campagna was working in the Beaubassin marsh he breathed in the eye of her husband Francois, who started becoming ill right away. Then the illness went to his head and that same night he had a really high fever and he died shortly after. A number of witnesses Marie Martin age 43 , Pierre Mercier, Martin Aucoin age 34 collaborated her story.
