I just now got around to watching Genesis and I had a mixed reaction to it. Really, every match was very good. Christian Cage-AJ Styles was very good with an interesting finish. Christopher Daniels-Chris Sabin was solid and LAX and AMW really tore the house down. The negatives (I'll get to the best part in a minute) was LAX being stripped of the belts for wanting to burn a flag and Sting losing the NWA title on a DQ. I don't know if Vince Russo has started booking yet, but the finish for the tag title finish reeked of him. Sting-Abyss was a great match. Sting actually took a bump on thumbtacks, something I didn't even know he was willing to do. But he was disqualified and apparently titles change hands on DQs in TNA. I didn't know that. Pretty sorry finish for a match people put money down for. As for Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe, they had a lot of pressure and a lot of hype built into this matchup and they met those expectations. The submission counters were fun to watch and I did notice they built to the finish pretty quick. However, that build lasted about 10 minutes to make it a long bout. Angle won with the ankle lock and ended Joe's undefeated streak. I liked how after the match Joe tried to shake Angle's hand and get a rematch only to have Angle turn him down. Maybe this can be one of those angles where two men will build to a year-long feud.
