Under the "Pledges and Initiates" section of the by-laws it currently states "Attending brotherhood night and the formal initiation ceremony is mandatory for both pledges and pledge parents." An option we are looking at is making it mandatory for "both pledges and actives" (instead of reading pledge parents). Also, the by-law currently states "The formal initiation ceremony shall be treated as a formal meeting for all active members, and absences shall be handled as described in Part II, Section C." An option would be to make an addition to the by-laws addressing brotherhood night that states being absent from brotherhood night counts as being absent from one normal meeting.Once again, discussion is greatly encouraged on the message board if you have some thoughts. We would like to move through things as fast as possible at the meeting.

I am in full support of this. We need to have a strong active presence at brotherhood weekend. That is the entire point. Besides, I think everyone ends up coming anyway.
