I think working with non-Christians is great, and most of the Christian organisations I know of work with non-Christians all the time. Just keep in mind that yes, we are usually working towards the same goals on one level, but usually not on all levels. For example: the Jubilee 2000 campaign was effective because it involved people of all faiths and atheists and agnostics, so they had a very loud voice because there were so many of them. But, it was also working towards a rather limited goal -- debt relief, plain and simple. The Christian organisation heading up the Canadian campaign, on the other hand, had much broader goals for economic renewal, coming out of their Christian convictions about what our economic system ought to look like. These were goals that many of the people working on the international campaign might not have supported, but they were also essential things to work for. So, we can work on two levels: with non-Christians on the things that we CAN all agree on, but also we shouldn't be afraid to speak out on things that come from our unique perspective on life, even if others might not agree (and who knows, we might be surprised at what we all have in common!).
