Saw your posting re Kanco. Remember it well, and how nice the owners were. My dad (Jack Segal) booked the entertainment there for years.

I remember my entire extended family going to the Kanco for vacations in the early 1960's. Would love to see pictures.Maybe that is why one of my favorite movies is Dirty Dancing

I vacationed at the Kanco from 1945 through 1958 and worked at the hotel from 1957 through 1965. Many greate memories of the Kantors, Cohens, Kaplans, and all the great guests and staff.

drove around the old Kanco grounds during the early Spring of 2010. It's now a small development of prefabricated summer cottages, about 10 to 15 of them. The only thing that remains is what's left of the old pool, down near the road.

I worked at the Kanco as a teaboy and pantry boy in the summers of '55, '56', and '57, my first jobs. I'd be interested in anyone's pictures or recollections.

Istayed at the Kanco for several weeks every summer in the late 60's. My father had the memorable name of Milton Berl. I remember Shelly Joy Cohen, Norman Cohen, the childrens shop their mother (I believe her name was Hilda) had in Liberty. The were wonderful summers that were some of the best times of my life. Oh and I also remember Fay and Howie who can the consession. Memories are flooding back.

Oh how I remember the Kanco. We went every summer from late 50s to early 60s. I remember when Dad would drive up on the weekends they would announce "MOOSE IS HERE" over the loudspeaker. My parents were good friends of the Kantors and Cohens and I remember sleeping over at Hildy's and the slate she had on the dining room floor. I still have a hanger that we covered with lanyard at the old building where we kids did summer camp. Arts and crafts. I do have pics but I have to find them. Wonderful memories.
