Y'all should think about getting together and starting your own singing in Elijay. That's what we did here in Savannah. When I was at Holly Springs two years ago there was a busload of people who came over from Pickens County, so I'm sure there is interest in Sacred Harp Singing.Gene http://www.savannahmusicfestival.org 18 day musical extravaganza...southern, soulful & sophisticated |

There is a Footwashing Baptist Church in Rome called Mt. Olive that still uses this singing. No piano just sacred Harp singing. |

I'm surprised there's not one in someplace like Blue Ridge. You might have to go deeper into the mountains, like around Hot House Baptist Church. That area is where my mother's family was from. My grandfather had a copy of the Sacred Harp book that I just bought. |

there is a Christian Harmony singing once a year near Elijay at Tickanetley Primitive Baptist church. |
