Week 1 Recap

Week 2 Recap

Translyvania Creeps Into  L.A. and
Frightens the Buckets, 26-17

Los Angeles- The Buckets gave back all that good karma they
had last week and fumbled on their first drive into the hands of the Transylvania
Cryptkickers for a quick gift TD. Basically everything went wrong but L.A. rallied back in
the 4th quarter and with just over 5 minutes left and trailing by 9 the FG kicker Max
Hobbs choked the easy 31-yarder and it was pretty much over at that point...

Great game coach Ragnar!

BUNNIES DEFEAT CYCLONES 21-3.
West Hollywood-The Bunnies fresh off record setting win over the Coalminers ran into a tough Cyclone team in the Bunghole.
QB Big Gay Al was shut down all first half by a tough new defense installed by rookie head coach James Travis. The few times Big Gay Al had open receivers, he couldn't make the play.
Neither team could move the ball during the first half as Russellville managed only a 46 field goal attempt that was wide right. Near the end of the half, the Cyclones got rolling and looked to break open the scoring, buy West Hollywood DL Stoney Rodlicker picked off a deflected pass to end the threat. It looked as though the half would end in a scoreless tie until Big Gay Al took over with 1:45 left in the half. The Bunnies drove the length of the field capped by a tough TD run by the Bunny general.
The second half featured more of the same, tough defense by both teams and bad passes by Big Gay Al. It was still 7-3 going into the 4th quarter when Big Gay Al finally made some plays and hit paydirt twice late in the game.
Look out for the Cyclones they are only going to get better and will win some games this year that no one gave them a chance in!
NOTES AND QUOTES:
-QB Big Gay Al "The score does not indicate what a tough game the Cyclones played. If I didnt pay those refs off, er I mean a few breaks here or there and it easily could have been a bunny loss. I think we overlooked this team and they just about bit us in the ass....oooh! not that could have been fun!"
K-Major Home "Seriously, this is last time I say this, then I am not talking to the media after this....I AM NOT GAY!"
DE-Stoney Rodlicker (about his first career int)"That is one more pic than I thought I would have in a career!"
-WR Tony Tango who filled in for the injured Paul Packfudge in the opening game recorded his second straight 100+ rec game.
-West Hollywood was held to 0 3rd down conversions in the first half, a Bunny first.
-West Hollywood was outgained 320-293

A close game throughout , Pike Place has to go for a 4th late in the 4th and Yukon stops them and seals the game with a late sweep TD from HB Doc Bronson.
Most of the Yukon Goatmens Jerseys had been misnamed when a mix up in the shipment of uniforms intended for the Mexican Football League's "Yucitan Boatmen" ended up in Yukon. The correct jersey colors and names will be ready for this weeks game.

LAMBO LOSES SECOND GAME IN A ROW TO A COACH WITH NORTHWEST TIES
In his second game as coach of the Pike Place Fish Flingers, Coach Lambo once again had to face a coach with ties to the Pacific Northwest. Last week, it was Coach Tando. This time, it was Coach Swingin' Wang. And, in the second straight week, Lambo came up empty.
"The game was closer than the score indicated," said Lambo. "We gave up a late TD since we had to go for it on 4th down close to their end zone late in the game. We also had some chances to score in their territory but came away empty. In the 4th quarter, Captain Whidbey missed a wide open receiver who would've been able to waltz into the end zone. In the second quarter, we were in field goal range, but they came up with 2 big sacks in a row to knock us out of range and we had to punt instead. On one of those sacks, we kept Java Jim back into block, but he let the rushing defender run right by him when he looked over to the sideline to see one of Coach Wang's mistresses take off her top. Unfortunately there's no WFFL rule against topless women, so we're gonna have to work on Java Jim's discipline. We're gonna bring in the Hooters gals and have them take off their tops in practice, and Jim better make his blocks. If he doesn't, that drool coming off his chin will turn into blood because he'll get a good punch in the mouth from Captain Whidbey for not protecting him. Of course, I'm not out there playing, so I'll be enjoying the view..hehehe."
Some Seattle fans are already calling Coach Lambo the worst coach in the Northwest, and asking that his car be pushed off the ferry...with him in it.
Some fans want to see Lambo base jump off the Space Needle, but would like to see him forget the parachute.
"Hey, those fans need to realize that both of these games were closer than the scores indicated," said Lambo. "Statwise we were pretty even in both games, and our run defense has been solid. For the second straight game, we've held a very good running team under 100 yards. I think we held Wang to only 65. We just need to learn to punch it in the end zone when we get in the red zone. We also need to get better pass pressure...we had trouble getting enough pressure on Wang's QB, and when you're playing man coverage, that can be a problem because your man coverage will break down."
Lambo posted 1/12/04 6:42 AM
In the post-game press conference, coach Lambo was criticized for some of his playcalling.
"Hey, we gambled a few times and lost," said Lambo. "There was that one time we came with a 7-man rush and left the running back uncovered, and they burned us. This game is a game of guessing sometimes. Sometimes you guess right, sometimes you don't. We were having trouble getting pressure on him, so I called the blitz, hoping for a sack. I took a gamble that he wouldn't be running the half back dump on that play. Well, instead I got dumped on. This is a game where if you guess right, you're the hero, and if you don't, you're the a*hole. Hey, there are examples of us guessing right in this game, like when we faked the field goal on them and got a huge first down. You can't win all your blackjack hands in Vegas, and you can't win all your calls on the field."

hehehe you are right about that- especially the Vega$ part: I
had a hot winning streak in that town spanning several years but the last time I went I
lost my @$$ playing BlackJack... in the future I will stick to my $100 loss limit and stay
away from the free drinks...

FBPro can be brutal just like the real game: one bad play turns the game around and you
are left asking "... what if?"
