Ok, I have a good question here. There are three events going on for July 14th and I'd like to get opinions on where I ought to spend my money and time. 1. Tesla is going to be at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake. I love this venue for the history. I love the BBQ at the place next door. Tesla never disappoints. 2. Jackyl is going to be at Cabo Sports in Cedar Rapids, IA. I've never been to this venue before, but Jackyl is always a blast. They rocked at Waterstock 2 years ago and back when I saw them at the Rock Fest for 98.9 in KC. 3. The Gibbs Brothers are going to be at the Chrome Horse Saloon in Cedar Rapids, IA. Rikki Rockett is going to be at the gig. I'm a huge Poison fan and the main reason I'd be going is the opportunity to meet Rikki. I'm sure the Gibbs Brothers will be a good show as I've heard a bit of their music and they get good reviews. This is a tough choice! If I could make both Cedar Rapids shows in one night, that would be the best! The drive to Clear Lake is further, but Tesla is a great band and the Surf is always fun. I heard Rikki Rockett would be at the Chrome Horse with the Gibb Brothers, but I've yet to get it confirmed and I thought Jackyl got cancelled at Cabo's but haven't check yet. While it's hard to turn down a Tesla show I'd be tempted to make the roadie to CR and see the Gibbs Bros. I've still yet to check out their stuff but as you said they have gotten good reviews. I'm not much for meeting the stars but for you that would be a definite bonus! |

Well, with Jackyl not being there and being at the Surf Ballroom in August...with Rikki Rockett probably not showing at the Gibbs Brothers show...I may be in Clear Lake afterall! If I make it, I will post pictures and a review! (Crossing my fingers...) http://spaces.msn.com/sonofapreacher |
