Anyone pick this up? I got an email with links to where you can purchase it but I'm most likely to support a local store. I can't stop spinning the 5 song disc I picked up at the show. Great stuff! |

I ordered it online Tuesday, but it hasn't arrived, yet. They said it was shipped on Wednesday. I checked Best Buy and no stores in Iowa have the CD, hence the online order. Not sure if other chains have it, but you'd think that someone would have figured out that with them being here for Waterstock, it might be handy to have a few on hand in the store on Tuesday. http://spaces.msn.com/sonofapreacher |

Man, I hope the full CD arrives today! I've been cranking the 5 song EP all weekend! I'm not a fan of the musical style of Scars, but the lyrics are great. "All the scars I'd hoped to mend only tell me where I've been..." Man, that just hits home about looking forward instead of backwards in life. Sometimes just plain moving on is better than trying to "come to terms" with things. Sometimes in life we will never have all the answers. I just love that line. The other tunes just kick my butt all over the place! I feel abused! HAHA!! http://spaces.msn.com/sonofapreacher |

I'm with you as Scars is probably my least fav but lyrically it's great and is still very listenable in my book. Do you know if Endeverafter has a EP available? You had mentioned you exchanged emails with the lead singer and he was going to get you a copy. I read where their official release is slated for August. That's not going to cut it for me. :) I was surprised to see no merch for them at my last stop by the merch tables at Waterstock. |

Yea, I was shocked about that, too, but the singer promised he'd get it to me somehow. I will have to send another e-mail. They are pretty busy on tour so I'm not sure of the odds of getting a copy at this point. They did try to find a blank CD on Saturday, but had no luck. I'll figure out something as it's not available and they aren't putting but one, maybe two songs from the EP on the new CD. Baby x3 will make that CD, though. :) http://spaces.msn.com/sonofapreacher |

Are the rest of the tracks filler or is it a solid disc throughout? |

Lorenzo's Love Shape Bruise is a fresh batch of songs that satisfy and leave you wanting more. Upon first listen, you can tell this is a group of guys working toward the greater whole of the song. The guitars are heavy and the rhythms are modern creating a sound that is familiar, but still moving. There are some excellent rockers that you will find yourself cranking for your friends repeatedly. Nothin' Left To Talk About, I Think About Sex (is it wrong that I want this to last longer?), The Breaking, Drowned, Little Sister, and 2AM are all stand out rockers. Drowned almost has a Queens Of The Stone Age feel with the guitar line, but this is definitely a better and more fleshed out song. There are some lyrical turns on this CD that stop you dead in your tracks when you realize what is being said. These Scars isn't my favorite musically, but did hammer home the point that scars only show you where you've been, not where you are going. Naked And Wasted is more of a confession with a mid-tempo sound. The confession is about how things are seen/enjoyed/destroyed. You will understand better with each listen. Hateful will remind you of at least one previous relationship as a plea to be treated better. It's done very thoughtfully without a wimpy lyric. Fallen has a modern Police sound mixed with some King's X and makes me wonder what in the world Sting and the boys were thinking by breaking that band up. There is something here for everyone. There is no big power ballad as this is a rock CD. These guys combine the classic rock and the modern rock with rhythms that make you move. The melodies will have you singing each song without realizing that's what you are doing. These guys aren't afraid to let each other have a part of the vocals, trade off guitar work, or provide production touches to enhance the songs. It really is all about the songs. The packaging is artistic with concrete statues. No lyrics are provided, but you will catch on with repeated listens. Get this CD, support this band, and pass it on! This is a listen that will surprise, satisfy, and show you a glimpse of what else is to come from Lorenzo. http://spaces.msn.com/sonofapreacher |

Chorus to 2AM - You're pretty when I'm drunk You're happy when I'm sad You're fun when you're doped up You're good at being bad Tell me who can make you laugh When you're passed out on your back If you don't give a damn Why'd ya call me up at 2AM (Is this my booty call?) - Lorenzo Yes, I love the CD. If you check out a previous post about new bands, check those out, too! http://spaces.msn.com/sonofapreacher |

I honestly wasn't sure if I'd like the rest of the CD even though I was really impressed with the 5 song EP and had heard the rest of the tunes live. I'm not a fan of the typical "alternative" or newer rock sounds as they can really keep the melody from shining through and make many singers just plain sound weird. Lorenzo's songs came across very well live and hearing how they translate in the studio really impressed me. It really is about the songs, not the individuals and this is cohesive throughout. I VERY HIGHLY recommend this CD. Oh, one update...I got an e-mail from Marko, the singer, and he said they may be touring with 7 Mary 3 and Days Of The New. While I'm not a big fan of those bands, I will still turn out to support Lorenzo. Who know? Maybe I will enjoy the other bands live, too! http://spaces.msn.com/sonofapreacher |
