My toad for the past 2 weeks seems to be sick i guess. he hasnt eaten as much and just sits around in the same place for a day at a time. im not sure if he just got used to his surroundings or if something else is wrong. he would eat 4-5 crickets daily and now acts is if they are not there. it is very small and ive had it for about 3 months. can you please help me with any information. thanks |

I do give out my Basic Toad Care info sheet to people. If you give me an address to email it to, I will be glad to do that for you ASAP. You have to determine if its normal "change of season" behavior, or the toad is suffering from a parasite. Where in the country or word are you? We're in upstate NY and its been chilly at night but I do still find toads in window wells. They're not gone yet, but my own toads are definitely slowing down and becoming aware of the season change even from indoors. http://www.toadilytoads.com |

it is possible that your frog is under too much stress, many times an animal that is captive as a pet gets stressed, they stop eating, moving, of even caring. if it is stress maybe get a bigger tank or just take is outside to roam free for a couple minuets.
