In DeadSpeed related news: Monday, April 5th marks the 10th anniversary of the tragic death of Kurt Cobain. ~ Posted by Fred Ped on yahoo My ties with Nirvana go way back as a fan and later into the mystery of his death. THIS IS ALL TRUE I first saw Nirvana at the Milestone In Charlotte N.C. years ago by accident. Don't remember what year or the name of the other band anymore. The next time I saw Nirvana was opening for Rush, by this time everyone knew who they were. In 94' during the Suicide/Murder I was spending most of my time working on getting into the music business. I was working on my own band and promoting bands. His passing was very shocking but at this extremely busy time in my life I honestly didn't think much about it. Fast forward - 1998 I'm touring with The Peds. We played X Rated Rock, class clown music whatever you wanna call it, similar to The Mentors & Gardy Loo. If you read anything about the Murder theory, you know who El Duce is. He sang for both of those groups. The Peds played shows close to the Foo Fighters and in 2000 I had the opportunity to meet Dave Grohl. For years I have thought about the whole Murder idea from the Kurt & Courtney movie. It's always been in the back of my mind. 2001 I formed a new group called DeadSpeed and landed the opening slot on the Mentors, Gardy Loo, Kill Allen Wrench tour (TOUR POSTER CLICK HERE). (If you have seen the movie you know El Duce accidentally slips Allens name out) El was "killed" by a train the same night he was out with Allen. One night after a show in Florida we all got really trashed. I asked my friend Gumby from the Mentors if he thought Allen killed Kurt and he said yes. (He passed away from a Drug Overdose shortly after that) After Gumby passed away it really started getting me thinking about all these people that have "killed themselves?" It seems to weird to me.
