I have installed vinyl commercial wallpaper for a friend in a motel. He gave me some fabric (similar to denim) which I am wanting to install in my home. Can't seem to locate him to call and ask what to do. The edges are "sewed"(I guess you would call it - like a salvage edge). Do you double-cut these edges? Overlap and doublecut? Help! I'm lost!!!!

Hello Judy,
You are correct, that is a salvage edge. I have seen guys do it all different ways. The way I prefer is trimmimg it first on the table.
Try it both ways and see what looks better and what you prefer. The problem is most papers with a salvage edge you can not get any paste on or very little so that is why we trim first.
Hope that helps, I got to get to work now, Funny you ask cause the paper I am hanging today needs trimmimg.
Thank you,
John Aufiero
