No Problem Paul, I could tell by your accent you were british :-) I would always apply the paste to the paper/heavy vinyl. For a couple reasons. 1) you need to work the paste in the tecture of the backing. 2) It is possible to do both, paste on the vinyl and a light coat on the wall. 3) it can be messy with paste on the wall. It gets on the the smoother than on the facing of the paper and its harder to hang the paper. There are very rare occasions when I paste the wall. Usually with a cloth or velvet fabric. I also paste pre- pasted papers just not as thick with my mixture. You still need the paper to relax. Hope this helps, John http://www.paperhangit.com The Art Of Wallpapering |
