I just ordered paper for my son's room. Its prepasted. I have never worked with prepasted paper before..its been 10 years since I wallpapered...They told me at the store that I could buy paste activator, what's your opinion on that? I have a gut feeling that even if the paper is prepasted I should still use some real paste...with that soaking it seems entirely possible that some of the prepasted paste will wash out. Any hints The border is also prepasted but shouldn't I use vinyl to vinyl paste anyway? |

I personally dont care for activator. I just mix a thin batch of paste and roll it on. Always use vinyl over vinyl on border over paper. http://www.paperhangit.com The Art Of Wallpapering |

Sorry to keep asking for clarification...I should still use the soaking tray? Where do I put the thin coat of paste? on the wall or on the paper after I soak it? or should I just skip the soaking part? |

I dont use a tray. I just lay the strips on my pasting table and roll it on. http://www.paperhangit.com The Art Of Wallpapering |

So just forget about the prepastedness and treat it like regular wallpaper, cut it, paste it, book it then put it up? ....you mix your own paste? |

All papers are different. Some pre- pasted papers have allot of paste and some have very little. I mix accordingly. Keep it thin if you need to thinken it you can. http://www.paperhangit.com The Art Of Wallpapering |
