Hi, I am moving out to Holland with my family because of my job. Thinking Haarlem would be a great place for us. Does anyone know if it makes sense bringing our car over from UK or should we buy in Netherlands? Understand we can take it abroad for 12 months byt then have to bring it back. Also, imagine car insuance will go through the roof? Also, we are looking for a 3/4 bed house in Haarlem. Anyone know good websited to look at? Thanks fo rnay help you can offer. Moving at end of March. David

Hi, R.e moving to Haarlem...Look on www.funda.nl for houses to buy...market abit static at the moment...but not reached UK standards ..yet!! If it is a permenant shift i suggest you buy a car over here as it costs a small fortune to register your car here..or rather it did with me. Heaps of second hand cars here!Hope you and your family enjoy the move My family and I moved here 3 years ago, for the children it is a super place to grow! wish you all luck.

I've just imported my car from UK, it was relatively easy despite mounds of paperwork but it cost me a fortune to get the lights changed - it was cheaper to get them shipped from UK and fitted here than organise here. Insurance is higher here but not much more than paying for europe cover on UK cover, car tax far higher.. I guess you have moved and made your decision now but if you have bought it and want more info on the process I will help if I can.
