I find the article "Rotation in Piano Playing" very interesting - even though it seemed a strange idea at first. You have not however explained how to come down again! Is it the same prodedure in reverse? |

Thanks very much for your question about "Rotation in Scale Playing." I have been intending to provide a series of pictures, illustrating the descending scale - but haven't got round to it! In the meantime I have added some comments to the end of the article. Please let me know if they are incomprehensible! |

Ooops! - yes, I did mean "Rotation in Scale Playing." Thanks for adding the extra info. Should all the movements be as large as you show in actual playing? You do say at the beginning that rotation movements are often very small. |

It depends on how loud and how fast you are playing. Generally faster = less movement and louder = more movement. The difficulty is in finding the right balance between the two. Experiment to find what works for you. There is sound quality to consider as well. I hope this helps! |
