I just read EW article about your new movie and found out your Mom was Minnie Riperton. She was very special to me her voice was so pure. I loved her music and have listened to her songs often all these years.I never met her, but cried the day she died. I remember someone saying [at that time] "God needed his favorite singer back in heaven". YOu are beautiful she would be very proud of you. Blessings on the new baby. |

I too,loved your mom's voice. She was an amazing talent who seemed to be a genuine person. As a little girl, I would try to imitate her. I thought that when she did an extended version of "Loving You" and included your name that that was so special. Be blessed Maya and continue to make your mom proud! |

OK, 1st of all let me say that you are by far one of my favorite if not favorite comedy actresses! I can't close my mouth, because i'm watching unsung and find out that you are the daughter of one of the best singers EVER! I've asked my man on several occasions, who does she remind you of? we couldn't figure it out. Keep doing what you do. |
