Great site and biography ...BUT Goldman was Elvis's assassin NOT biographer. Like all great musos...Elvis was a synthesiser. He loved black music... greatly respected black musicians (listen to BB King etc) - It was not cool in 1954/56 to promote black music, actively support black radio stations and charity events (as Elvis did on many ocassions). Jackie Wilson says that most black cats he knew at this time, including himself, were ripping off Elvis's act and vocal style. Elvis did much to break down barriers and open doors. Thank God for PLH and Viva Las Music!! - Regards - Mike.

that's odd you should mention Jackie Wilson because I've always thought of him as the black Elvis or Elvis as the white Jackie Wilson.
In fact if you get pictures of the two looking in the same direction you will notice an uncanny resemblance.
I thought Elvis copied Jackie.
Thanks for setting things right.
Do you think we will ever find out who Elvis really was.
What was that line from the western starring Jimmy Steward and John Wayne?
I think it went"When facts and legion contradict, print the legion."
thanks again.
