A recent set from Liverpool, played on 20th November, had clearly not been been properly vetted. Such a poor approach to vetting does nothing to encourage people to turn out week after week. It seems very appropriate with so few details to check that Dag got the link wrong, it seems the Southport Quiz League are not infallible after all. |

Because of the consistent lack of balance to quizzes and frequency of poorly constructed questions/answers I have felt for a long time that proper vetting does not take place. I recently came across a set of questions that we (CTK Siblings) had recently submitted. The wording of approx. 75% of the questions had been altered for no apparent reason, some answers had been changed from what was correct to an incorrect one and some questions/answers were changed completely, destroying the balance of the questions. It is embarrassing to know that what is now a poor and unbalanced quiz has been credited to us!Does this sort of "vetting" take place all the time? If so it is not surprising that there are complaints about quizzes! |
