slight changes in the rules are not what is detering new teams, most people have never even heard of the quiz league.Scrap these little hand books and use photocopied sheets instead showing only local fixtures and the other venues for cup games in small print. The money saved should then be used to write to every pub social/parish club, large employer, university department, library ect, that does not have a quiz team, challenging them to join. This could be done by charging £5 per new team for entry into the MCC and offering regional and all merseyside prize money and spliting the early stages of the MCC into local grops with the winners and runners up playing throughout merseyside |

I actually miss the little books we used to have. As Q.M. I found it useful to check up on the rules before a game. the books were also useful to check venues and to find out where other quiz teams in Merseyside played. also, on the first year St Francis won the Reilly cup, there was no place to record it. Shame! |

We all agree that the loss of a Merseyside booklet is a shame, and it does make it difficult for people running inter league competitions. Unfortunately this was taken out of Liverpools hands and we must do the best we can with what is left and make more use of the web site, email, and the post office.I take your point about the Riley Cup, last seasons booklet was our first and we could do with some refinements, ANY SUGGETSIONS ? I'll see about getting Riley Cup and Pairs winners included in future issues. http://www.liverpoolquiz.org.uk/index1.html Liverpool Quiz League |
