Hey to you guys know that their making 3 new video game movies, Tekken, Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive? No lies! Soul Calibur has been relist today! (I think) I can't wheght till it comes to South Africa! Yayness! |

Are they going to be Hollywood-produced? If it's Hollywood, I hope they don't get butchered like other Hollywood-made video game movies. Super Mario Brothers was an atrocity. Street Fighter was an abomination. Mortal Kombat was decent, but could've been better. Yes they are! They did mess Soul Calibur up in the review abit, the said Siggy/Nightmare was an evil prince who whanted to use Soul edge to open up the gates of hell and distor the world and that Kilik and Xianghua had to stop him. Siggy is'nt prine! And what about poor Maxi?! *Redys Qweens gard witch she stole from Raphael* There shall be blood! En garde, swines! |

Siegfried's an "evil prince"? Well, so long as they don't get Leonardo DiCaprio to play him, it'll be fine. Bah, so long as Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise don't play Siegfried and Mitsurugi, I don't care about who plays everyone else. I'm not happy with the prospect of this movie being made by Hollywood in the first place. They should've just left it to the Japanese so they could make a cool anime out of it, instead of letting Hollywood butcher the plot and characters. |

If this follows in the footsteps of other Hollywood-made game-based movies, the other characters are gonna have a maximum screen time of 10 seconds each and have little or no dialogue. Heck, look what they did in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation... they just literally squeezed in all the non-major characters like Nightwolf, Jade and Cyrax, and it was like "now you see them, now you don't". Street Fighter was like that too. There's a good chance that in the Soul Calibur movie, people like Maxi, Voldo and Ivy aren't gonna have well-developed parts. That's kinda sad. What makes SC so great is the characters-- to turn it into a good movie, Hollywood is gonna HAVE to perfectly capture the characters' personalities and give them some decent screen time. If they butcher the characters like Sir Richard said, the movie won't go down very well even if it's got a fantastic plot and far-out special effects or fight scenes. |

Excellent insights, Chris. It's true... if they don't flesh out the characters properly, even a great storyline or flashy effects won't get this film to score well with true SC fans. Turning Siegfried into an "evil prince" already sounds bad enough-- if he turns out to be a stereotypical insane villain, complete with maniacal, "mad scientist" laugh, SC fans are probably going to walk out of the cinema. http://www.fortunecity.com/bennyhills/coltrane/774/disco My other site. Dang, can you imagine what a Dead or Alive movie would be like? Big-chested, skimpily-clad women everywhere... are there women who are that "bouncy" in real life? (apart from Pamela Anderson, but then again, that's all silicone...) |

No guys, I ment "They did make an anime." Well atlest I think they did. I've seen a pic of wath might be a Soul Calibur anime movie. Just ask and I'll send it to you. Anime Siegfried & Kilik are so bishi, but they still dorp dead sexy, anime Hwang looks like a Gohan (DBZ) clone. As for Mitsurugi, he looks like that guy from last blade. Anime Maxi? He looks gay is you ask me. |
