Interested in any info on location of farm Greenside near Macclesfield. I have book by Jim Faull "Macclesfield Reflections along the Angus" which features lots of McNamara's including picture of Dennis McNamara [1841-1916] and wife Sarah [1849-1916] of Greenside..Dennis & Sarah had 12 Children [john, jim, mary, brigid, thomas, andrew, catherine, edward, henry, ann, margaret & george]& 31 Grandchildren....related to John & Brigid McNamara arrived from County Clare 1853. The senior McNamara's were tennant farmers in Paris Creekarea 1860's. Their eldest son Dennis married Sarah Anderson in 1874 an in 1880 the couple bought section 2792 [a total of forty acre's].... this farm possibly may be Greenside previously held by Patterson & Simpson [both connected to Thomas Anderson] If anyone can sheld any further light on Greenside or any mentioned families it would be greatly appriciated.

Hi Michelle,My father was John McNamara eldest son of Dennis McNamara and Sarah Anderson. He did not marry until he was 65 yrs and i was born when he was seventy. I do not know too much about "Greensides" except that it was the fanmily home. My cousin Bet White of Macclesfield who is the local historian and one of the authors of the book you referred to can probably help with a lot more info re the property . as to the family itself I have a good deal of information. We are away from home until the middle of August but I would be happy to talk further then on the above email.Regards Jo
