Why bother. You can't dance there as the kids don't know what the floor is for and you can't get around them. They prefer to drink and smoke on the floor rather than dance. If anyone has seen anything different than this recently, please post it.

Original posted message is still correct--kids on floor with no dance etiquette.

Swisher still full of kids, more like a high school dance. Someone needs to teach them what real dancing is, anyone 2 step or waltz anymore?

I feel very inclined to add another post to this post. Take note people, the kids at Swisher have supported that venue for years and it is still open..............Hello.........how many adult themed clubs and or dance halls have gone by the wayside because of no support from the very people who complain there isn't a place for them to dance. The "Swisher Kids" have supported their venue, why haven't the adults supported one of theirs? i'm sure there those whom will blame club / dance halls on the owners / operaters, however there is a very clear message to people who would consider opening such a venue for adults. Look around the state of Iowa........Yes Iowa! where is there is dance hall committed to dancers??? that's right, there aren't any because dancers don't support them for some unknown reason. Siwsher does it right. Keep the place open for those whom will support the venue. Shouldn't have got me started!! Darrell

Darrell you are right. Look at the folks who did not support Lets Dance, a dance THEMED club. Now where do you go to now in Cedar Rapids? Swisher? Walford? For those who love country, Swisher is the place. Walford only has one country dance a month, and thats really more for the benefit of the Country Friends, IMO. I've tried to talk to Keystone Turner Hall about doing deehjaying country dances again but so far its fallen on deaf ears. I guess we are lucky here in central Iowa. Lake Robbins caters to dancers, and also to some extent, Miss Kittys, at least on Wed, Thur, and early on Fridays. I could go on....but I will leave it at that. Dave Kroeger D&J Productions

My wife and I love to go dancing and have danced for a long time and also 'give' some beginning country line and couples dance lessons in our garage. There is a limited number of places to dance, but I do not believe it is the dancers fault as much as some might think. We loved going to Let's Dance as much as many of our friends did. We certainly appreciated to have a great place to dance and socialize with friends. Two things were the demise of Let's Dance. Hiring to many expensive bands and catering to, many diverse dance group. When an establishment has to 'stoop' to making enough money to survive by using 'alcohol' it is in trouble and will have alot more trouble because of it. Alcohol is a drug regardless of it being 'legal' in the state of Iowa. When Let's Dance deviated from the country theme that helped it become a great place to dance in, it began to go down hill. DJ's were enjoyed by most of the dancers. Advertisement was also another downfall for Let's Dance. It was not utilized wisely or accurately. To many changes in scheduling rock n roll dances, ballroom dancing... from the initial Country dance theme. Highest regards, Roger......
