By far, the best dance hall around & just outside of Cedar Rapids! They have ballroom dancing every Sunday & Tuesday night and country dancing one Friday night each month. Check out their website for schedule and more info. http://ponderosaballroom.com |

Walford is a wonderful dance hall, however please do double check their schedule as they only have a band on sundays once a month, not every sunday. Also, the majority of the bands on Tuesday nights are not ballroom style bands, but rather "old country" with a bit of big band style and one is much more a polka band. they're great bands and i love to listen to all of them, however to call them ballroom dance bands is very misleading and anyone wanting to find true ballroom dance bands would be very disappointed hearing mostly "old country" music played and dance to. Again, i love them all. D |

Agree with Darrell that first post was inaccurate. Must add that floor tile are missing in places, dance floor is dirtiest by far in area, and one must like "boxed" wine being served. |

If you haven't been to Walford lately give it a try again. Have replaced the tile floor so no more missing tiles. Very nice. Tuesday night usually finds quite a few singles there so you don't need to take a partner to be able to dance. Also, for big band ballroom dancing try Lake Robbins on Sunday nights. Great floor and good music! We need to support ALL the dances if we're going to continue to have places to dance. So what if the music isn't always your favorite type! |
