Right, well, yes, on this topic I have a question can you just (and to sound childish) make them up in the most literal sense. I mean, obviously, to not use known language. Most witch names are confined to a grouping of words from a language (usually English), and I just thought that such a method is a bit constricting. The thoughts, feelings and images behind your name could be described by one word (as that is all words are: a reference), which to the maker, sums up their witch name. It seems to me to make more sense, but I may just be prattling on, I do sometimes walk off into a realm of philosophical language, I'm sad like that.

Hello Undecided,it really doesn't matter what language your Witch or Craftname originates from, nor does it matter if it only means something to you.Your name could be in Klingon or Vulcan or Ancient Brithonic, Welsh or Latin etc. As long as the name has a meaning and a deep feeling for you, that is all that matters.BBRobin Darkmere

robin, how did you come to your name? it's quite long and very grand, i really like it, it would also sound great as a horses show name! if my horse has a foal would you mind your name being given? bb sarah, regarding magical names it must mean something to you ,not just be different cause it sounds good or wackie if that makes sense, lol.

Hi Sarah,I came to my craft name like this. When I was a boy about 5-7, there was a radio programme we used to listen to at school about a boy living in medieval England. The programme was called Robin Thee. I loved those programmes and the name always stuck with me, as I used to imagine myself as Robin Thee.I used to play in the local fields and woodlands calling myself Robin Thee.I used to be quite a dark and mysterious person, never letting my emotions show, hence the Dark. My star sign is Libra, often said to a water sign and the medieval name for a lake is a mere. Robin Hood first met Herne the Hunter at a lake called Darkmere. Clannad wrote the score to the TV series Robin of Sherwood and the Album fetures a track called Darkmere, it is a very lovely piece of music.I have always loved the town of Glastonbury and I go there every opportunity I get. The ancient name for an educated person is Magister. I use this title as I have a Diploma in Herbal Medicine.Yes, of course you can name the horse after me, I would be deeply honoured Sarah.Blessed Be!Robin Darkmere

thanx robin, i will have a look at my partners cd collection as he likes clannad, and see if i can find that song.i am getting itchy feet and need to do some work in my garden the snowdrops are beautiful this year and i bought some in the shops and as soon as i've had my Imbolc celebrations i'm going to plant them underneath my magnolia tree, the tree has white and purple blossom so i think they will look nice together, has magnolia got any differnt uses? can you feel the warmth of the new sun now that the day's are getting longer? bright blessings Sarah

Hi Sarah,Magnolia is a very strong poison, so it doesn't have any medicinal uses at all I'm affraid.Talking of itchy feet, I too can't wait to get started on the garden. I am having a landscaper in, to do some major renovations to make a few things safer. Then I am going to move my wrought iron pagoda and the water feature and lay a load of turf.I am having a balefire for Imbolc. Have a great time Sarah.BBRobin Darkmere

Hi Sarah,I was only thinking of you last week and wondering where you had got to. It's really good to hear from you again.Yes my garden is finished and is even better than I had envisioned it. In fact, everything has grown so well over the summer, it looks like it has been established for years. The Goddess obviously approves of what I did.I would still like to get a few statues or figurines to stand about, but I have three water features and they are lovely.Wondeful to talk to you again Sarah, don't stay away so long next time. Talk soon.BBRobin
