+ JMJ It was so GREAT. Everyone looked younger than 50. It was so good to see everyone. We missed those who could not be there. A few had trouble with traffic...next time please remind us not to have it in the summer to make it easier for everyone. We do need reminding since we forget. The place was so beautiful..music so fun and the food so delicious. Entertainment was great with Pat and Madeline and Janet and Diane and Pat McGettigan Robey. We have such talent in our Class. We have to keep in our prayers those who are having health problems right now. The Holy Mass at St. Nicholas was just awesome. Pat McGettigan Robey lit candles in rememberance of our dear departed classmates. It was real nice to see some of their family members at the Holy Mass. Msgr. Hodge is so awesome. A lot of fun was had at the Flying Cloud too. I love these parties that go on for days. I think we have to thank Marie Hall d'Hedoville for starting such a fine tradition. A special thanks to George Fenwick and his lovely wife for the fun T shirts. Yea Holy Spirit |

I second everything mentioned by Mary. I wasn't all that enthused about attending this reunion. Long drive...where to stay...all of that. However, I am so glad I went. It was probably the best yet. To see again after 50 yrs some folks like Pat Noll, Carl Barone, Mike Dagrosa, Mary Ellen McVeigh, Bette Davis, Frank DeFeo made the trip special. I'd seen most of the others at various reunions and it was good to see them once more, but this was a treat. I had been thinking how my muscles and joints were getting so stiff over the past year and then I noticed...hey, we're all a bit slow getting out of a chair...but once up....we're lookin' good. You should have seen Carl Barone on the dance floor....wow...he was fantastic. And I was 'magnificato' with my baton (no humility here). Terry O'Donnell had asked me twirl and so I did. Lynne Walters looking 'au couture' and California fabulous danced while I twirled to 'Let the good times roll'. Beatty Gallagher was so funny at our table both nights. We laughed and laughed. Kevin McArdle looks and dressed exactly as he did when I met him in 9-C. Spiffy. The reunion committee are to be commended with all the work. The booklet, the class picture (of which I am not a part....LOL), the T-Shirts saying "I'm from the old school showing a pic of the long gone HSHS on Mass Ave. Tom Miller didn't like the fact that the year of our graduation was on the shirt as he doesn't want anyone knowing he is THAT old. The Memorial Mass at St Nick's brought back such warm feelings. We rememebered our classmates and prayed together as a class once more. The food at the Mays Landing Country Club was first class. I had the prime rib. The potatoes and green beans were also delicious. We danced and had a good time. There was NO official photographer. Several folks took digital pics and will be emailing them to Denny Kelly who will select the best and then send it to us. Patsy McGettigan sang for us in Spanish and English.....considering she made up every Spanish word....she could have fooled the best. She was wonderful. Many were conspicuous by their abscence ...I had emails from Larry Peterson whom I know wanted so much to be there. He was recovering from ankle surgery and the long flight from AZ preclued his attending. Cuz Coia wanted to be there, but couldn't make it. Letters were read from Jack Tyrell, Judy Pinion, and Lois Wimberg. Mary Harrington had us sign a card for Linda Morley who I was hoping so much to see, but she too was unable to make it. Tom Lamaine MC'd the program with just a few too many references to the Inlet. Carl Barone got him with a touche remark about Carl's grandmother always watching Tom on TV and commenting that Carl looked pretty good compared to Tom. Loved it. I will end here hoping others will add their memories. As soon as I get my one-time use cameras to the developer, I will forward the pics to Clem to put them on this website. Tom Lamaine commented how appreciative of Clem everyone is regarding this web site. I implored everyone to add to it. We'll see. http://wellington.vox.com my blog |

Our 50th reunion was wonderful. Sorry that some could not make it due to health issues, we missed Bette Singer, Linda Morley, Bob Cornell. It was great to see some class members who were at their first reunion, Clarence Abbott, Carl Barone. I think Mike Dagrosa had been to the 10th. I sat at the table with Carl Barone, Mike Dagrosa, the Wimbergs, Eleanor Brennan, Diane Dietz and had many laughs reliving HSHS and our present lives. Good to see Ellen & Jim Duffy, the Pat Elliotts, Rich Schriener and Fran. and just too many to mention. The room was beautifully decorated with blue & gold balloons, music was great but didn't have enough time to dance. Food was excellent. The mass the next day was so special remembering those classmates who are gone yet touched our lives and we will never forget them. Joan Nash's two sisters and brother attended, also Marianne Logan's sister was there. I realize how lucky I was to grow up in that era while on the surface we were poor compared to todays standards but in so many ways we were very privileged. |

Spiffy??? Don't listen to Pat. That was not the same coat and tie I wore to St. Nick's. I still have them but I decided not to wear them the night of the reunion. |

I enjoyed the 50th year reunion very much. I think it was fantastic and the best reunion we ever had. I want to thank the entire reunion committee for making it so nice for us. The highlights were Pat twirling her baton, Patsy singing and the skit with Janet and Dianne. That was really cute. I was very happy to be able to attend with Janet, who has always been one of my very favorite people since first grade. I was very, very disappointed in the reunion picture. I think that there should have been a professional photographer who would have made sure that everyone was paying attention, looking at the camera and smiling. I also noticed that a few who were at the reunion were not in the picture. Why was that? If it was a matter of cost I think that you could have increased the price of the tickets to cover the expense for a photographer. Anyone who could afford the $50 could also afford another $5 or $10. I hope that you will think of this for our next reunion (if we plan on having one.) |
