The warning order came out with Newsletter 100 so you should all have it by now. For anyone planning to go by public transport (just me then?), West Acre sets new standards of inaccessibility but it is still possible! There is one bus on the Friday at 13:30 from Kings Lynn bus station to West Acre and one bus on the Tuesday at 09:47 from West Acre back to Kings Lynn. There is also a one-a-day bus route that runs through the village but it only runs Mon-Sat in one direction (towards Kings Lynn), which is awkward as Kings Lynn is the only end of the bus' journey that has a railway station! There are no buses on Sunday or Monday So we will be busting a gut to get to Kings Lynn by 13:30 on the Friday... Or you can get a bus to Swaffham or Narborough and get a taxi or a lift. Dan |

Thanks for the info Dan! Gromit and myself are probably going to heading up there by train. |

If you're going for the bus, it is 13:30 or walk. We're going to aim to arrive at 12:20 on Friday. http://lordhoptons.fotopic.net Photo Website |

Think we're heading for somewhere beginning with N that has regular busses and is only about 2.5 miles from West Acre. Public transport sucks. |

N for Narborough? West Norfolk is not well served for public transport between King's Lynn and Norwich, especially since the demise of the various local railway routes since 1959. The fact you can get to West Acre by public transport at all is excellent by rural Norfolk standards! Our backup plan if we miss the weekly direct bus is to do the same as you: get a bus to Narborough and then taxi the last bit. Dan |

We've been quoted £13.00 for a taxi from King's Lynn to West Acre. If anyone is travelling on Friday and wants to share, give me a call. |
