How about putting your recommendations here on where to eat locally?

For me the best pub food is at the Coach & Horses, Danehill. It isn't cheap but the food and atmosphere are great. Harveys beer on draught.Recently won "Sussex Dining pub of the year" I believe.

'Circa' in Lewes - in the High Street - they have a web site so surf a bit. Absolutley first class food and good service. Highly recommended by The Guardian Food page years ago and still a very classy joint. The best restaurant for miles. They often have jazz evcenings at the week-end. The food is Pacific Rim (?). They are opening a fish restaurant nearby in the New Year.I think the Coach and Horses has dropped off a bit since the scandal of the landlord, the landlady and the cellar man - followed by the inevitable divorce. The veg are no longer organic, home grown.
