If you think its all been quiet, that's because Andrea & I have been in Marrakech, great place!Our bank account is Highbrook Tsunami Fund at Nat West, sort code 60 10 26 Account number10020535, but it might be as well to wait for the charity to be registered so we can claim back the tax. We are now up to £ 7020 promised which is 1,333,800 Rupees,On top of this the friend organising the Ball in Brighton on 26th March is now giving us all the proceedsWe are meeting on Wednesday with a PR expert so I will know more after that, I think at the moment the tables will be £500 for 10 people, so if any of you can put together a table with either friends or work colleagues, that would be helpful and should be a good evening.My sister, some of you have met, is meeting me in Colombo on the 12th which will be useful as she has several Sri-Lankan friends.Three other people have offered to go out again at a later date to take out money and/or help. I read the Medicin San Frontier are now offering to return monies raised donated to them for the tsunami as they believe that they have in excess of what they need. Apparently 20% of donors have asked for their money back. |
