In the past I've removed the seeds from gourds while making birdhouses. I am curious if anyone has just drilled a hole and then left the seeds and inards in the gourd before hanging it. It seems that the seeds would be good food and might attract future residents and the inards might be good nest building material. Thoughts? |

I've always removed all of the contents of the gourds when making birdhouses, but you may have a point about leaving the fibrous innards inside for the birds to use for nesting. I'm going to try leaving the innards in and and see if the birds go for that. Don't forget to drill holes in the bottom of the gourd for drainage. --Gypsy http://www.gypsywitchcurios.com gourds, gourds, gourds |
