Doretta, why did you delete this thread when I previously posted it? It shows a 69% increase in recycling tonnages in East Dumbartonshire since the adoption of an alternate weekly scheme. Why does an increase in recyling have to be associated with fortnightly waste collection? I am all for recycling, and if councils educate and aid residents on this issue that can only be positive. What I fail to understand is why we cannot achieve good recycling rates and still have a weekly collection?? As a single mother I think it is totally ridiculous to have waste sitting around for 2 weeks! |
