This Mail on Sunday article illustrates the frustration of residents in Lincs - refuse collectors have been verbally and physically assaulted in other areas of the UK over the past two years.

These crazy rules seem to be pretty simple to me.
The general vagueness of that article would be alarming were it a more respectable paper than the Daily Hate.

This press article deals with the same incident as started the two day wonder on the Today programme last week. On my count of the email to the programme , there were 6 in support of the council's actions and only three British ones against alternate week collections and the rest of the messages explained various systems abroad, that all sounded at least as complex to me as ours does. On their message board, there were 54 messages last Friday and there were still the same number when I checked yesterday afternoon. The furore seems to have gone totally flat, despite airings two mornings running on national radio and the report in the Mail on Sunday. It suggests that perhaps it is not a problem for the majority (as usual the silent majority).
