This programme may be of interest to those in the industry and certainly will be to householders who believe all their recycling material is actually recycled: http://www.channel4.com/news/microsites/D/dispatches2006/rubbish/index.html |

It was interesting, and pretty depressing, but it hardly adds to this campaign does it. |

Anyone with any doubts in my local council is welcome to observe both the collection vehicles, the MRF in operation and what is tipped at landfill. Weights and consignment notes are available for inspection. These guys were cowboys and gangsters, unfortunately this is part of private enterprises and councils will not get way with such practices. |

alf, please observe the link on the right to see that it refers to rats. Despite rats being an issue unrelated to the alternate weekly collection of rubbish and recycling (in fact the page itself fails to provide any link between these collections and rats), the page remains. The same can be said of Doretta's move to draw attention to this TV programme. Nothing to do with alternate weekly but reducing confidence in recycling and therefore beneficial in this toothless battle against these new recycling systems. |

That is what my post refers to, nothing to do with rats, but the content of the tv programme and its attempt to show that recycling is a false premise. My council is open and above board and is producing good quality recyclate and weights |
