"Awakening the Shaman I" workshop/retreat in Bat Cave led by Jungian psychologist and shaman, C.Michael Smith on June 5th thru 7th. A basic introduction to the classic shamanic journey methods and basic principles of shamanic healing, the heart-path, and their integration into sacred and earth-honoring ceremonies including ecstatic drumming and chanting. Particular emphasis is placed on the shamanic journey and the use of the heart as an inner source of personal empowerment in the development of the true-self. The highly experiential workshop explores how to use the journey method to tap transpersonal and spiritual sources of wisdom and insight, to explore the hidden and otherwise unconscious dimensions of experience in an intentional and safe way. These visionary dimensions are otherwise accessible through dream and myth, and through art, dance, and music. The entire weekend is planned as a shamanic communal retreat.
