good to see you last saturday morning at plymouth. I feel very privelaged to have been allowed to travel on the last tpo, and would like to thank both plymouth and penzance crews for their indulgence at having a foreigner on board. A night never to be forgotten

Nearly applied for a vacancy on a TPO when I worked at MLO Surbiton in 2002. Had I done so I'd have enjoyed the last two swansong years with you boys. I remember throwing of bags for the TPO and collected the labels when heard TPOs were going to be no more

Hello Allan, thank you for a very informative site and good wishes to all former tpo staff. if you still want to see a tpo in operation (working) go to the great central railway, (double tracked) which still operates the service on steam events-very good demo. Now I have a question please, the photos are excellent but how can I tell the period for each style of tpo? any help regarding time periods in use for each style would be very much appreciated. regards Andrew stevens
