I like lady Venom's idea of entering the first part of a story and letting the other authors post on their ideas to the story. I'd like to do something similar. This story is unfinished and has a hanging ending which I'd like to see concluded by one or more of you. The challenge is who can come up with the most creative follow-up part. I'd love to see what you writers can do with this rather bad but open story idea. ------------------------------------------------------ It was dark. There was no moon out tonight as the clouds, black and rolling, choked and smothered the moon and starlight. Dinobot and Rattrap had completed their mission hours ago but thanks to that stasis pod they were now stuck here in the depths of the forest. They never saw what came out of the pod; all they knew was that it had totally slaughtered Quickstrike and they weren't going to hang around to find out. They'd had to go so off course to get to the pod that now they were lost and a storm was brewing. Dinobot had the feeling this was no ordinary storm. Rattrap sighed. "Dese com. links neva work when ya really need 'em! Where da slaggin' Pit are we?" Dinobot opened his mouth to say something but Rattrap suddenly put a hand over his mouth and used his free hand to put a finger to his own lips. The Vermin had obviously seen or heard something as he very quietly walked over to some bushes. He motioned with his hand for Dinobot to stay and disappeared behind the trees. Dinobot was alone and he very quickly began to grow uneasy. He heard the snap of a twig behind him and spun around, eye beams charging, only to get a chestful of laser fire. He fell back with a roar of pain and the last thing he heard before darkness enveloped him was Rattrap yelling his name in a tone that instilled in him a pang of panic before all pain and senses faded.... Rattrap skidded on his knees beside his fallen friend and studied the gaping hole in his chest. It was bad. All chest circuitry was a shredded mess and he could see the faint blue glow of his spark. "Dinobot," he whispered, but he had no time to grieve. He looked up sharply to catch a yellow glow in the bushes. Every instinct told him to run but instead he rose to his feet and fired. The creature, whatever it was, shrieked and let loose a blinding beam of high-power laser, the same kind, Rattrap assumed, that had knocked down a big warrior like Dinobot. Rattrap dodged the attack and ran in an absurd way. He ran crookedly, suddenly leaping to the left then the right so as to make himself a difficult target to hit. The laser was hot on his heels and he dived behind a boulder and waited, chest heaving, mech fluid prickling in his veins. The world was deathly silent save the distant rumbling of the storm and the hiss and rustle the bushes made as the wind swept through. He peeked over the rock and promptly ducked, just in time to miss a volley of shots. He transformed to vehicle mode, drove out and targeted that yellow glow. He charged, full speed, toward the light. When he was almost upon it he rapidly transformed back into robot mode. And gasped. The transformed before him had the form of a deep, underwater angler fish. It's iron jaws gaped, its body was lined with guns and blades and over its head, hanging like some twisted halo, was a stalked light. Unlike Rattrap, it didn't hesitate to open fire and the blast was so great that it pinned him unconscious against a tree trunk. It fired continuously and without mercy. --------------------------------------- Cheetor arrived in the hill that punctured through the trees and looked into the small clearing where Rattrap was currently being destroyed. His spark leapt, his body trembled and a horrified sob escaped his lips. He whipped out his gun and fired at the attacker from his high vantage point, and hit. It let out a haunting scream that sounded so low...almost like the sound of a crying whale deep underwater. He didn't stop until it had turned and fled and was out of sight. He ran down the slope and fought his way through the groping tangles of branches until he was in the clearing. He expected Dinobot was probably down as well and the fear of being alone against this...thing that had taken down his two friends made him feel nauseas, but desperate. When he got there, though, he saw something he did not expect.... What happens next? I leave that to one or more of you to decide. Who can think of the most creative follow-up part? Since no one posted anything yet, I'll give this story thing a try. I warn you though; this has been written at the spur of the moment and I haven't had a chance to plan it and stuff. The feline looked at his fallen comrades and they started to glow. The light become brighter and brighter until Cheetor was forced to shield his eyes. Then, all of a sudden, the light faded and Rattrap and Dinobot were gone! Cheetor stared in horror as his two friends vanished before his eyes. If he was scared before, now he was too terrified to even move. He stood there motionless until he heard the sounds of the monster approaching again. Without wasting any more time, Cheetor lifted off just in time, barely escaping the incoming shots. Nervously, he spoke into his comlink. "Cheetor to base!" Okay, that's about it for now, I've got a headache... I need help fast. I have no idea how much longer I can l…” “Cheetor, Cheetor come in! Slag!” Rhinox said as he pounds the control panel. “What the matter Rhinox?” Optimus ask as he walks in the room with Airazor. “Cheetor needs help fast.” “No worry we on it.” Airazor said as they hurry out of the base. Cheetor was badly wounded from the anglerfish last shot. The anglerfish now loom over Cheetor charging his weapon. The anglerfish was suddenly hit repeatedly sending the anglerfish into a tree. “Fiszz bot scrap Quickstrike, Waspinator scrap fiszz bot.” Waspinator said as he lands next to Cheetor. Tarantulas came running on the scene laughing madly: “Teehee, I can’t wait to get you on the operating table, heeheehee don’t run from me.” The anglerfish got up and disappear into the night. “Wait for me, you need all the help you can get.” Cheetor said as he gets up. “Fine, but when he goes down I will take a sample for myself.” “Alright, let go hunting.” Cheetor growl as the trio took off into the night. Wherever he was, it was terribly bright. His body ached all over and his head felt like a bowling ball had fallen on it. After a long pause, he managed to pull himself into a sitting position. He opened his eyes meekly and put a hand to his forehead to shield them. He couldn't get to grips with what he saw. He was in what appeared to be a huge white room that stretched endlessly for miles around him. There was nothing there except the fallen figure of Rattrap, who lay sparking and twitching with his face on the floor. Dinobot winced in pain as he stood and surveyed the emptiness around him. He waited expectantly, but there was no noise. The silence roared in his ears and his footsteps as he approched Rattrap sounded harsh and unnatural. He knelt beside the rat and nudged him. "Vermin?" No response. He stood up again. His eyes had adjusted to the bright white. "Where are we?" ------------------------- The Axalon Rhinox frowned as he looked at the computer screen. "What the slagging? There's Cheetor's signature, but so are two Predacons. They're all online...surely they would have fought each other? And where did Rattrap and Dinobot's signature go? They've disappeared!" The hunters were now the hunted. Tarantulas was the first to go. Shot by a beam that made him disappear seconds later. Cheetor was next the anglerfish shot a tree that was behind Cheetor and it fell on top of him. With them only Waspinator was left. Already throw to the ground from the impact of the anglerfish blast. This is it, I’m a goner. Waspinator thought to himself as he prepares for another devastating attack. Mech fluid was spewing out of his left shoulder. Waspinator, Waspinator. Yes, what it is? Use the dirt. What? The dirt, use the dirt. Waspinator finally understood what the mysterious voice was trying to tell him. He scoops up a fistful of dirt and throws it in the anglerfish eyes. The anglerfish panics and runs into a tree knocking itself out. “I INVINCIBLE.” Waspinator shouts into the dark. The figure withdrew from Rattrap as they hear someone singing. It went something like this: Bye bye mister anglerfish guy, do an autopsy later, but right now you gonna die. I set some bombs and you gonna die, but I gonna survive. Tarantulas’s laughter fills the air as he set the last bomb. “Oh god we all gonna die.” Dinobot said to himself as he watches Tarantulas. The two blinked, then looked at Sapphire, who was giggling happily, holding onto Rattrap. Sinead indicated her, not daring to let go for a moment. "So she gets to drool over Rattrap, and we don't get to argue over who gets Dinobot?" A mystical magical pixie popped into view, pointed her pixie stick at Dinobot, who was instantly cloned. It then popped back into nonexistance. The two Dinobot fans blinked to each other, grinned, and held on tighter to their now-separate Dinobots. Sinead and Solar Blaze grabbed Dinobot and began to fight over him, but a pixie magicaly appeared, cloned Dinobot and disappeared. Now they have one each. Sapphire is hugging Rattrap and Miss Special has somehow managed to bring Inferno into this and has convinced him that she's the Royalty and has taken his gun. Lady Venom has also just appeared. ------------------------ Sapphire was cuddling Rattrap, who was rubbing his head and wondering if the chaos around him was a result of a concussion. She looked up at Lady Venom who blinked slowly. "Sapph...what's going on?" Sapphire looked around. Sinead was cuddlign one Dinobot, Solar Blaze was talking to hers. Miss Special was running around with Inferno's gun while Inferno watched blankly. Dannn was looking horribly confused and was rubbing his head. She looked back up at Lady Venom. "You know LV, I have no idea. But what I do know is that I don't want to stay in here. We have to all find a way out of this place, and that includes the cloned Dinobots and Rattrap." She stood up and yelled: "Attention writers and Beast Warriors!" As was expected, they either didn't hear her, or were too preocupied too notice her. She sighed and looked hopelessly at LV. She watched him and then hugged Rattrap harder, strangling him for a moment. Lady Venom looked shy,and shrugged,"Maybe...why? Rampage isn't my only fav....he's just one I don't talk a lot about." SolarBlaze walked up to her and whispered," Just wait till Rampage hears that he's in competion with him." She jerked her chin in the tyrants direction. Sapphire laughed lightly at Lady Venoms blushing," What is it with you and bad boys?" Megatron watched what was going on with mounting fury, which finally erupted," Will someone please tell me what you're talking about!" SolarBlaze pushed her in his direction,"As much as the thought of him disgusts me,...go for it! Crabcakes isn't here,so why should you worry?" Lady Venom looked up at the glowering leader. ~He doesn't exactly look like the cuddly type, SolarBlaze~This thought made her blush even harder. Megatron finally acknowledged her," And you are?" "Name's Lady Venom, and mayhems ma game, nice ta meet ya." She held out her hand, he turned away, sneering. Dinobot, the one who was standing beside SolarBlaze, snarled at her. Solarblaze saw the look on his face and smiled. "Man, I really with I had a pencil and some paper!" After the Dannn, train blowing up, and "this-story-is-really-getting-hectic" scene, SolarBlaze notices Tarantulas about to eat Dannn and says to Dinobot, "Excuse me for a minute, I have to bother someone. You can try to run away if you'd like...*evil smile* if you think that will help you. *hehehe*" SolarBlaze slowly walks up to the spider and sudden yells a big "Hi!", startling the evil scientist. *speaking really fast* "My name is SolarBlaze and I love you laugh, do you like to laugh, I like to laugh 'cause laughing's fun and fun is always good and do you like being a scientist because you get to laugh 'cause I really like your laugh, can you laugh for me, could you, could you, please? 'cause I really like your laugh and I try to laugh like you all the time do you want to see?" Before he could answer, SolarBlaze starts imitating Tarantulas' laugh until he freaks out and runs away screaming. SolarBlaze brushes her hands off and walk towards Sapph,"Well, that's taken care of" "What's taken care of?" Sapphire says, still holding on to Rattrap. "Oh, nothing. You know, Sapph, I've been thinking. If we're fan fic writers, why can't we just write ourselves out of this fic?" "Hmm, good question. Why not?" INFERNO, GET YOUR TAILPIPE OVER HERE!!!!! YEAH, THAT MEANS YOU!!!!!!" Since Miss Special's raving wasn't easy to ignore or avoid, Inferno obliged. "All right, Inferno, you see that... guy... there?" (She was doing her best not to use every obscene word in her vocabulary) "He doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm have been, and from now on always will be, the Royalty. GOT IT?" Inferno saluted smartly. "As the Royalty commands!" Miss Special's anger dissipated slightly. "Another thing. You are not allowed to attack the Maximals- or anyone for that matter- unless I say so." She turned to Sinead's Dinobot. He lays smashed under the large pod. Everyone stops runing and looks confused at the pod, waiting for it to do something. The pod begins to glow, they all advert their eyes. Once the pod stops glowing the hatch cracks slightly open. Mist fills the air causing visiblity to weaken. The hatch opens up all the way. The foggy mist swooshes away revealing nothing to be in site, except for an empty stasis pod and a slagged Rampage.
