Chess By: Sinead To be completely truthful, the idea was almost hopeless. There was no meaning to pull off the risk, but then . . . it could also mean victory. His opponent might not see the potential move. And losing was not an option. Rhinox looked over at the two bots. He smiled, and shook his head in amazement. Rattrap moved his queen three squares to the right, taking a rook out. "Check." Dinobot shook his head, taking the queen out with a pawn. "Negative, Vermin." He grinned. "However, you have been in check for three cycles." "Huh?! What?!" Dinobot said nothing, but instead smirked. Rattrap saw Dinobot's own Queen, in place, and ready to take his king out. There were no moves left. The tall ex-Predacon grinned. "I believe that the term is 'check and mate'." Rattrap upturned the board and left the room, muttering evil words under his breath. Cheetor walked in, blinking over his shoulder at the commotion echoing back up after his retreating form. "Uh . . . What happened?" Neither Dinobot nor Rhinox answered. Instead, Dinobot picked the board back up, and started setting the pieces back in place. Cheetor sighed, and sat. "All right . . . one game. How many did Rattrap play?" "Seven." "How many did he lose?" "Seven." "Slag." Rhinox grinned to himself, as he continued repairing a console. He always knew that it was a good idea, by teaching Dinobot how to play Chess . . . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, that's it! Chess is a good way to let Dinobot vent out his fighting prowess without actually beating someone up. And I agree with you - Rattrap *would* lose seven times to DB.
