The people of St.Martin have spoken. They are happy with our present situation in the manner the direction our country is going. Big question is, is that truly the feeling of our people, or is it money talking? There are two parties responsible for this outcome, 1 the electorate of St.Martin (voters) and 2 the politicians. Let me explain the dangers of buying and selling votes. As we move towards country status we are expecting people to be more independent and people to be more responsible. Unfortunately the two mayor political parties are teaching our people to sell their integrity and values for money. As a concern citizen who loves my country I wonder if we are really ready to be a country. Just imagine if a drug lord who have billions of dollars or euros influence or manipulate our election by giving money to the politicians as to buy our votes.Then we should accept the consequences that comes with it, be it drugs, prostitution and crime. By selling your vote you choose to give your sacred rights to the god of money and the god of value and virtues. Just imagine a St.Martin court of justice being influence by money and letting our criminals go with a slap on the hand or a government that put their personal interest before the wants and needs of the electorate of the St.Martin people. I am sure you will say that’s wrong, but remember by accepting to sell your vote for money is what cause the very effect of creating corruption. And you can never have a country that will benefit the mass of the population when the people are taught to sell their votes. The very fact that you have to sell your vote proves we are not making progress. If it was progress automatically you will vote on the opportunities of what good governance has created. What’s a shame is to see how the Democratic Party and the National Alliance uses our unfortunate and poor people as pawn by giving them money for their vote and then telling them how much they care for them. Electorates of St.Martin do not be deceived by 800 or 1000 US $. The self interest group that gives them that money they give you is making millions from their corrupt leadership. I can give you two good reasons not to vote DP and NA. 1 Show me a country in the world that allows their people to become a minority with no financial power then tells you were are making progress, 2 Show me a country with a opposition party in power that allows it to happen and then tells you we do not need no more opposition party after they have failed for 30 years in opposition. The Democratic Labor Party (DLP) has men of character with the courage to tackle and solve problems. You must know your rights as a citizen of a country and also what is expected of a government when you elect a government. The only way to change for the better is to educate your self about the purpose of government and your rights as a citizen. Never ever give up and have the courage to change for the better. Remember him or her that resist the evil doing value is added onto them in the sight of god. Be always true to yourself and live by what you preach. Do not let people tell you who to vote for, judge every politician on his or her character. Show love and compassion for your fellow man. Electorate of St.Martin DLP believes the best days are a head if we have the courage to change. DLP: your vehicle to a new and better future.
