I've gotten quite a bit of interests in a starting a food buying group. Next month, an environmental group I'm working with will be showing a video and having a meeting on starting a food buying group. Food buying groups buy in bulk, directly from distributors. This decreases the costs of food, and makes buying organic produce & environmentally-friendly products cheaper. This is in the fledgling stage. We also thought that any excess from this group or is some members of the food buying group wanted to contribute more, we could donate this food to either local area shelters, families or other members of the community to help with their food costs. Food Not Bombs came to my mind as a group that might be interested in this. Please let me know.

If you run into a situation with excess food we would be happy to recieve a donation. We rarely ever waste anything whatever we don't use we end up freezing it, or donating it to Sienna-Francis/Together Inc.. If it looks really bad it ends up in the Spirit of Peace Compost heap.
