I'm a transplanted Nebraskan, but follow your listserv with great interest. I think it's got great potential as a conduit that progressive Nebraskans from across the state could use to share ideas and stay in touch. It presents an opportunity to bring together rural and urban voices that I find abosolutely tantalizing. The things you're writing about parallel what from Lincoln, Omaha and rural areas are talking about to me. It only seems natural to put everyone in touch, so that the listserve can foster big ideas and activities not only around national issues, but close to home as well.Best of all, it offers progressive Nebraskans from remote areas a platform for communicating, sharing and discussing issues with other Nebraskans. As someone who grew up in a very small town, I can't tell you what something like that means.I've sent Jon Vote some contacts who could expand the base of your listserv. There is a hitch though: the new voices would reflect progressive ideas from all over Nebraska, not just Omaha. Some might think that runs counter to the original designation of the list as Omaha-centric. Whether to enlarge the group or not is, of course, the current group's call.Comments?
