hi i have a few questions. well i am christian. but i am interested in hand fasting. i was wiccan for six years. i am sixteen now. i want to get hand fasted when i turn 18 to my best friend. we understand that it is mainly pagan and that it usally between a man and women so this is going to be sorta weird but is there such thing as a christian same sex handfasting ritual. i don't know if i can find one with out pagan/wiccan gods, goddesses. and one with out a priest. we aren't really gay persay we just love eachother and swear to be toghether forever as friends and in love.

Hi, so what if you DO love each other, this is the 21st century and anything goes, so if it feels right then that is OK. As for the handfasting, yes it is a strictly pagan ritual and there is NO room for christian beliefs. One cannot be Wiccan and christian at the same time. You are still young and have loads of time to make the right decisions for yourself. Until then, enjoy each others company and if you really need to make some sort of commitment to your friend, then make her a promise and seal it with a ring for her to wear. BB Robin Darkmere

No is the short answer to this question, it is not possible to be both a witch and a christian. The christians hail witches as being devil or satan worshippers and so want nothing to do with us. On the other hand their doctrine tells them to love their neighbours as themselves, so where does their hatred for us come from?? That is what christianity is. It is a hipocrisy that teaches, don't do what I do, do as I tell you and if you don't, you will burn in the eternal fires of hell. Witches do not believe in hell nor the devil. We work for good and only good and we are religiously tolerant of other peoples faiths. Too bad it doesn't rub off on the christians.
