Can Love Devour Me?

It was a hot summers day. The combination of this type of climate and the silence was unnerving. I went to our balcony, there were no sound either, not even the barking of dogs or the cuckoo of the roosters, this is hopeless.
“What time is it? My God, it’s only 10 minutes before 9 a.m. Shit! Now, now, what can I do? I’m the only one here in this house. I think they’ll be back later this evening. What can I do to pass the time?” I open the AVR. “Damn it! What’s the matter now? Stupid Meralco!!! Why the hell their timing is always ruthless? Putangina!”
She went to her room to take some sleep. As she lied in bed she heard this voice again.
“I know you want it. C’mon, call him. Tell him to come over. The thought of him is bothering you for almost a month now… love…love…love…” “Sabi na nga ba eh!” said Eve. “Will you please stop tormenting my life! Hello, Eve! Stop thinking of him!!!” She stood up and decided to take a bath in order to lessen the heat. She opened the shower. While removing her clothes, the thought came back. “Look at the mirror Eve. Look at your naked body, longing for his touch… I know you want it… Call him… His hands, his touch, his lips, his breath… all of these you’ve been longing to feel…” Eve looked at the mirror. She closed her eyes trying to ignore the voice. “…touch me… feel me… I know you want me…” She can’t stop it. Her hands touched her body creeping in different places. Eve heard herself moan. She’s loves it. Thinking it was Ethan. “Oh, Ethan… don’t stop… don’t stop…”
Suddenly the phone rang. Eve was lost in ecstasy. She composed herself immediately. Sweat continued to cascade down her body. She covered herself with a bathrobe.
“Hello! Good morning!” said Eve gasping for breath. “Oh hi! Morning!” “Who’s this?” as she forgot about the later even that had happened. “Hi Sugar! It’s me Ethan!” “Yes, it’s him. His voice… It’s Ethan… Love… Love… Love…” She sat down and tightened the hold on the phone. “Oh… Hi Sugar! What’s up? Is everything alright?” “No don’t worry, everything’s fine. I just want to hear your voice before I start my day!” Ethan said in his deepest voice. “You know what? You’re getting corny day by day! Stop it! You’re making me laugh!” said Eve. “Hahaha!!! C’mon laugh your heart out! Sugar?” “Yes sugar?” “Ahm… if it’s okay with you, can I get my Ate’s CD that you borrowed? She’s buggin’ me since yesterday.” “Oh, the CD. Yah sure you can get it na. I’m done na naman listening to Tori Amos.” “Good. Can I get it now?” “Yah sure!” “Are my future in-laws there? If yes, my mom will ask me to bring this chocolate cake that she maid this morning.” “Oh really? Tita Annie made some cake? Wow! Sayang naman, they’re not here eh. They’ll be back later this evening. They went to the mall.” “Sayang naman! I’ll bring it to you anyway. What time would you like me to go there?” “Thank you Sugar! Ahm, let me see it’s already 9:15. You can come here at around 9:45. I’m about to take a bath you see.” “Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t know you’re doing something. 9:45 sounds good to me. See you then! Love you Sugar!” “No it’s okay! I love you too sugar! Bye!”
Eve took a bath. “This is good. The cold water is washing away the heat that is building up inside of me.” After that she waited in their balcony. “It’s 9:45 am, Ethan should be here by now.”
The red CRV looked familiar. Yes, it’s Ethan alright.
“Look Eve, the color of love. Red. Here comes Ethan the love of your life. Look at him, can you see through his eyes? Now, remember, his touch… his lips… his body… remember Eve… Love… love… love…”
Eve’s heart started to beat faster. Sweat cascaded in her body again. “Not now Eve, not now Eve...” Eve said to herself.
“Are you okay Sugar? You look pale. And besides, you’re sweating profusely” said Ethan in a worried voice while touching Eve’s face. “Of course I’m fine! It’s just the climate and there’s no electricity. What took you so long?” Eve said ignoring the voice as she distanced herself away from Ethan. “What? I’m late for only 3 minutes! C’mon Sugar!” Ethan said as she followed Eve in the Dinning room. “Just kidding!” “Now’s your chance Eve… kiss him… hold him close… touch him… smell him… don’t be afraid… see that face? So gentle… so serene… What more can you ask Eve?…” “Here’s the chocolate cake Mom made. I’ll get the plates and the fork…” “And I’ll get the knife.”
While eating they talked about anything under the sun. They laughed, joked around. It’s been 15 months. After 2 years of courtship, here they are. They met in college. This year, the two of them will finally graduate. Both of them are taking up BS Biology as their pre-med course. Ethan wanted to become a surgeon while Eve on the other hand would like to specialized on hearts, a cardiologist.
“I’m done!” Eve said. “Me too!” Ethan said. “Tell Tita Annie that I love her cakes! When is she going to have her own cake shop?” Eve asked Ethan. “I don’t know. It’s just her pass time.” Ethan said while clearing up the table. “Ay oo nga pala, the reason why you came here… the CD. I’ll get it in my room.” Eve said. “Okay Sugar, I’ll be the one to wash the dishes.” Said Ethan.
“Eve, what are you waiting for? Ethan’s already here! You’ve been wanting this… All night long you fantasized about him. This is the right time! Don’t be scared… Everything will be alright… You love him right? Now Eve… what are you going to do? Those eyes staring at you with love, his face, his hair as black as ebony, his hands, so strong yet so gentle, his body firm and tough, his smell that gives you the chills… Do it Eve… You both love each other! Now’s the right time… His touch… his lips… love…love…love…”
“Eve! Eve! There you are! I’ve been calling you! Eve!” Ethan said as he entered Eve’s room. Eve is perspiring. She can’t talk. “Is something wrong Sugar? C’mon you can tell me?” Ethan said as he embraced Eve. She began to tremble as he touched her. Eve backed away. “Ethan… I… I…” said Eve. “Eve, what’s wrong? You’re creeping me out here!” Ethan said.
“That’s right Eve. Do it now… Everything’s going to be alright.”
Eve looked in Ethan’s eyes. “Yes, full of love…those eyes… that face…” Ethan approached Eve. He holds her face in between his hands.
Ethan kissed Eve. It’s just their first time to kiss. Eve opened her mouth taking Ethan’s mouth. Both of their tongues were in each other’s mouth. Savoring the taste. Slowly Ethan guided Eve towards the bed without breaking the kiss. “Yes Eve… kiss him more… savor the taste… “ Eve moaned in Ethan’s mouth. Ethan was taken by this, he slowly and gently took off Eve’s spaghetti shirt. Transferring his mouth to Eve’s neck. He kiss every inch of Eve’s neck, mouth, taking each of Eve’s ear in his mouth, playing with Eve’s earlobe. Eve can’t help but moan. “Ethan… oh E..tha..nnn… yes… yess…”

Ethan found Eve’s stomach. He focused his attention on it. Licking his way while moaning Eve’s name. Eve clutched the bed sheets as Ethan continued his move. Lost in sensation, Eve grasped Ethan’s hair. “E..tthhaa…nnnn… don’t stopp… pplllllleeaaseeee doooont…”

Eve removed Ethan’s clothes. “Look at that Eve, you will not miss anything from now on. He’s all yours now. Go ahead Eve, make your move…”

Kneeling on the bed, Eve made his move. She kissed Ethan’s face, like what Ethan did to her, not missing any skin. She nipped Ethan’s body. She took one of his nipples in her mouth and gently sucked it. Her tongue circled around Ethan’s nipples. Faster, slower, faster, slower not breaking the rhythm. “C’mon Sugar, say my name…” said Eve as she grasped for air.

“Oh Eve… E.vvveeee… faster… yyyeeesssss…. Evvveeee…” said Ethan in his husky voice. Upon hearing his voice, Eve transferred to his left breast. Faster, slower, faster, slower. “My god Eve… oohhh…. Aaahhhhh…. Siiiigeeeee ppaaaaa…”

Ethan changed their position. Eve’s back was facing Ethan’s chest. Ethan’s tongue found Eve’s back. Slowly nipping his way towards the bottom. “Hhhhhmmmmm…” moaned Eve. Using his tongue, he draws a heart shape at the back of Eve. “Can you figure that out Sugar?” Ethan asked. “No… again Sugar…” Ethan drew it again. “Oh yes… a heart shape…” Eve answered.

Ethan interlocked their hands as he embraced Eve. When Ethan will kiss the hands of Eve, he noticed the ring Eve wore.

* “As a sign of my love for you Eve, here’s the ring that will symbolize my eternal love for you. Will you marry me Eve?” Ethan said on their first anniversary. “My God Ethan, of course, yes, I will marry you!” said Eve as Ethan put the ring in Eve’s finger. “And Eve, here’s the other ring, for you to place in my finger” said Ethan. Both their families witnessed this moment. *

Ethan remembered that moment. He froze.

“Ethan, what’s wrong?” asked Eve. She faced Ethan and holds his face. He looked at her. “Eve, remember the time when I gave you this ring?” asked Ethan. Eve looked at the ring. “Yes, why?” “I love you so much Eve. I can’t do this. I want you to be clean when I present you to the altar. I hope you understand Eve” said Ethan as he looked in Eve’s eyes. Eve realized what had happened. She noticed that they were both sweating profusely. Eve cried as she covered her face. “I’m sorry Ethan… I’m so sorry… Don’t look at me…” sobbed Eve. “I’m not for you Ethan… I hate myself… I’m so sorry…” continued Eve. “Sssshhh… don’t cry Sugar” Ethan said as he embraced Eve. “Oh Ethan… please forgive me…” “Now, now, it’s okay. I love you very much Eve. I respect you. I don’t want to break our parents’ trust. It’s just that you’re so precious to me. You’re so pure… I don’t this to happen right now.” Ethan said as he lie Eve on the bed. “Sugar, I want you to take some sleep. Please rest. Don’t worry for when you wake up, I’ll be right here beside you” continued Ethan as he caressed Eve’s face. “I’m scared Ethan, I don’t want you to leave me. I love you very much…” said Eve. “Hush my Sugar. Believe me, I will be here” said Ethan. Eve closed her eyes. “You look like an angel… I love you too Sugar.” Ethan kissed Eve’s forehead.

Everything was okay now. I’m no longer afraid of silence. As long as I’m with him, I will not be afraid anymore. He was so special to me. He’s my life.

I woke up at around 4 in the afternoon. He held my hand as he slept in a chair beside me.

His face… so peaceful… so kind… I love this man. I will marry you Ethan. I will give you my all. Not even death can separate the both of us. If I die, I’ll ask God to be with you again. I love you very much Ethan.
