Hi everyone, I have provisionally booked a 5-day Cuillin Ridge scramble (not decided on specific route yet) with Mike Lates of the Skye Guides, w/c Monday 15th Sept. I am hoping any like-minded people will join me on this trip and please drop me a line. If there are few of you coming along, it could effectively become Outac trip! I am happy to co-ordinate logistics and make it a trip to remember. I plan to travel by train to Inverness (15.08 from Newcastle Central) on Friday 12th Sept, cheap advance fares are still available. If anyone wants to come and arriving on different days, can meet on location in Skye (to be arranged). The 5-dayers costs are: Cuillin Munros (12 peaks) £275 Classic Cuillin Scrambles £350 Cuillin Ridge Traverse £500 Based on minimum of 2 clients to 1 guide. Otherwise, 1:1 ratio costs £175 per day. So if there are few of us getting together, it works out cheaper! Either post it here or email me off list: markgrimes75ATyahoo.com I look forward to hearing from you. Don't delay please - it has been difficult getting availability of guides and others are booked up. As Mrs Doyle would say: "Aaaah, go on, go on, go on, go on…!" http://www.skyeguides.co.uk/ Thanks Mark |

Update: 5-day ridge scrambling has been booked and confirmed, starting Monday 15th September. Anyone who wants to tackle the Cuillin Ridges in Skye can join me and guide Mike Lates during that week, please contact me by email (details above). If you've always wanted to do the Cuillin Ridges, now is your chance... especially it is cheaper sharing the cost of guide. Exact route and arrangements to be finalised with guide nearer the date, I am flexible with that. I will be in Kyle of Lochalsh on Sat 13th Sept, before hopping over to the island, and allow time for meeting up anytime, getting to location and preview with our guide. Hope to hear from any of you soon. Thanks, Mark |

I did the Black Cuillin Ridge (for the second time) in the summer of 2005. I hope you have a head for heights! I will also be going to Kyle of Lochalsh by train on Wednesday. But not to do any scrambling, just to enjoy the railway journey. I’ll be back on Thursday. http://www.duncanweb.org/05.08.05_skye.html Duncan's trip to Skye |
