Stop by, we can exchange war wounds. The 168 was on an older AC, we did a 164.8 on the new AC at World Finals and a 159.8 on the TL at World finals. The year that we did the 164.8, before we left for finals we did a 161.8 on the TL with dead batteries.

It must be that year that Lynn from Innovative Marketing was "adjusting" the meter for the people from Frankiln county. Those poor guys really got the shaft that year. If memory serves me correctly, I think the "other" meter was about +10db? rick, I'm waiting for you to chime in on this one.......

andycontrol,thats friggin funny
RickRFpower posted 6/3/06 1:39 AM
oh jesus, that was quite the day, if the disturbing info. is what smutz and I both think it is then I can narrow it down to the exact day, weather, and vehicle, rumour
has it that one of the guys from up towards plattsburgh was doing a huge number, well he got on a real, calibrated audiocontrol, and didn't do so hot, actually he was 10 db off from his "normal" score, just like another 3 to 5 people from up that way!! so smutz had a chat with a certain somebody, and eventually got called out, I belive he was told to not talk to the person until he did his number, well, that was surpassed by around... let me see here, 8 db, and I mean real db, and that is not accounting for the 8 to 10 db that this other guy was off on his meter already, so you get the point, he was not loud, we were very loud, but seeing as we were louder we must have cheated, oh yeah, and an invite and picture was sent to this person to verify our score, and to show that the challenge had been met and his score was crushed, oh the good ole days, talk about inspiration, just give smutz's the phone and let him have his way, then tell him to do something, then watch out, he does it times 2, remember the old green/purple/black blazer? oh boy I do, and I think smutz's does too!!!oh yeah, we did a 167.9 on the old audiocontrol calibrated, 163.9 on the new 190 audiocontrol at Idbl world finals, 157.9 on the termlab at 03 finals, 162.8 on the termlab prior to 04 finals on the termlab, damn we were pretty loud!!!!!!!!!! take care everyone, Rick
RickRFpower posted 6/3/06 1:41 AM
sorry dyslexic, 159.8 on the termlab at 03 finals,

I am speechless.........All I can say is "Balls in that court" bring that $hit on! We did exactly what I said we'd do on the phone that day and then as soon as we did it there was no one to be found, so we up'd ourselves and got louder, kicked a lil' bit more dirt on that grave.
Tyler, you've figured out the Team XSS weak spot, remember this. There are two types of people in this world, better yet in the competing realm of things, those who talk about doing it, and those who do it. We are definitely the later, and until that entity steps up he'll always be second, which in this sport is first loser.
And you guys thought I was going to be speechless, screw that $hit!

ah f&*K it ill just say it on here, someone told me that they hit a number that just baffled me, i later found out that it was metered at the opening of the port... thats the disappointment...
Thanks for answering the q about your score i wasnt sure, thats damn good for 2 15s! I was pretty pissed to find out that it was a port score not a dash...
Real winners are on the dash, and despite that, im still going to do all i can with what i have, but i may need some help (ricky) lol ive got the equipment but i dont know about the whole wiring thing...
defj posted 6/4/06 4:17 AM
r u saying chris and ricks score was at the port?if so thats wrong.100% legit
RickRFpower posted 6/4/06 1:56 PM
he may be talking about my port score I did in colonie ny, after the show kenny from audio obsessions wanted to see what joe's big ole black truck with the 8 15's would do at the woofers, he did a 160 or 161, after he did a 152ish at the dash legal I believe, they wanted me to try it in my port, at first I said no, then with a little persuasion from lafountain and joe I did it, I can't remember exactly what I did but it was high 60's or so, after I had already won the show and taken loudest of the day legal on the dash with a 156.5 I think, well thats all I can remember, and thats the ONLY time a mic/sensor has been anywhere but the dash for me or the XSS van, later, Rick
sutterkain posted 6/5/06 4:23 AM
smithers did you read anything from above? i praised chris and ricks score i know that it was on the dash, no rick i wasnt talking about you

ya i read it,no where in there does it say anything about who you were talkin about,in one sentence it says thats damn good for 2 15s! and then in the very next sentence you say I was pretty pissed to find out that it was a port score not a dash...
Real winners are on the dash, now what does that sound like to you.to me it sounds like, hey guys good number to bad it wasnt legit.maybe you should specify who your talkin about or just clarify things aliitle b4 you post.
sutterkain posted 6/7/06 1:52 PM
chris and rick both know who i'm talking about and thats all that matters, and obviously it was on the dash smithers you cant do a port score for DB Drag.
defj posted 6/7/06 11:33 PM
dont tell me rules bud,i know what you can do in dbdrag.i've forgotten more than you'll ever know.you can do whatever type of metering you want, doesnt mean its legal, you could still do it just to screw around.i think i know who your talking about too,i think his name starts with And, and ends in Y.
RickRFpower posted 6/8/06 2:04 AM
hey smithers, you know, he is trying to make peace with you and you have to be an ass, the guy is making every effort to make you understand what he meant and you have to be an ass about it, you know what, you need to realize that picking on, calling out, and purposley going out and trying to beat people just because you dont like them or need to prove a point is not the way to get newcomers to this sport,I can name 1 that quit and will not come back, and another that is teetering on the verge of competing, you might get the new guys to come on and compete but I dont think you realize how many you push away, sorry for the truth, and sorry I had to be the one to tell it, but check around, I know a "few" people who feel that way, and lastly, seeing as I know you will argue back, which I expect and totally condone, I do not want to start a pissing match on this forum, which I realize is what this post could lead to, so sorry in advance and truth hurts, and I am by no means an ambassador to this sport/hobby/lifestyle/, i am just a concerned competitor that wants to see SPL flourish in the north country, sorry to offend anyone, Rick
defj posted 6/8/06 3:17 AM
actually rick your right, your the last person that should talk.lol.i think i already made peace with him on a different forum after this message was already sent.now as far as people not competing because of my attitude,i dont see that discouraging anyone,i openly admit i'm a cocky ass sometimes(maybe i dont have the right to be at times).if people dont like it they dont have to associate with me.however i like to think that if your a newb in this sport i'm one of the easiest guys to talk to and give alittle advice if possible, thats what i did with tyler, even though he seemed like he wanted to disagree with alot of the tips i gave him about the toyota.i've been building comp boxes for 3 people over the last few weeks trying to help newcomers.i brought 7-8 new faces to the comp scene by hosting my own show last year.so dont say that i'm pushing people away, cause i dont think i am,hopefully i'm not.all in all rick what you said was mostly true,no hurt feelings.i've only biult 1 vehicle for myself to beat someone else and that was the rex and unfortunately that was over b4 it started.i have helped friends with THEIR vehicles though, and ya i thought about buying another rex to play with tyler, but think i can spend a grand in better ways.i guess i was trying to stick up for a couple of my teammates in the first place on this topic, maybe i should have just sat back and watched.again no worries,no hard feelings.
defj posted 6/8/06 3:35 AM
one more thing, you said i made people quit or think about quiting,i wanna know who.i like to think i help the sport by biuldin rivals and making people stronger.make them wanna strive to do better.whats wrong with that.its no different than team xss and clark.you guys wooped up on him all year, but did he get discouraged that year and call it quits?hell no he got alittle louder each show, cause he had something to strive towards.i think i've biult 2 systems for dustin to compete against other people, whitmore and your cousin(cant remember his name, but that was all in good fun)that was the ministreet days.i wanna see this sport grow too, thats why i take $$$ outta my pocket twice so far soon to be one more, and throw shows,so obviously i dont want people quiting.ask how many people i've let borrow tools at shows or tweaked an amp for,or let come over and use my meter the night b4 a show (for free).i brought fuses for a guy at your last show,i guess what i'm saying is just because i have a disagreement with a few people doesnt mean i'm hurting the sport.
sutterkain posted 6/8/06 5:20 AM
not to continue this, but at nmv you told me that i could never get into the mid 40s with my equipment because it just wasnt loud, considering it was my 2nd box EVER id say that a 145.8 was pretty damn good. basically your advice was to use your box and throw out my stuff, which to me wasn't advice
as for making peace, all you said is that my scores dont mean jack unless its on the TL and that you win...
RickRFpower posted 6/8/06 10:49 AM
thank you tyler for stepping in, I am finished with this post, as I really am not to concerned with this stuff at the moment, but just remember, no hard feelings, see ya, Rick
defj posted 6/8/06 11:47 AM
tyler i never said you couldnt do mid 40's.i said you couldnt do 50's with what you have, not outta the setup you were running.and you wont.just keeping it real homey.you said you did a 148 or 149 at andys and i told ya that ya that it didnt count because it was on a weak meter.1 15 and 1 amp in a stock class in the tacoma is not gonna do 150,i would be amazed if it did.as far as using my box,we offered to let you use it to compare basically.i know it was your 2nd box,i gave you tips for when you build your 3rd box.i told ya dynamst gave us a good gain on the roof ,but you deciding putting some sort of cloth barrier would be better.i only offered advice.now i already tried to end this with ya and you come back to get the last word, not with me.btw i win was just playing around, get a sense of humor
sutterkain posted 6/8/06 6:48 PM
theres a difference between joking and nagging, you should know arent you married? following every post i make and saying how juggernauts used to be good but arent good enough anymore id say that its getting old. with the same given wattage and same woofer with a yota, tell me what kind of speaker will be significantly better. I realize that DD and AQ can handle more... but I will never put more than 4-6k on mine... so until i find a better speaker for the money, "Nothing beats a big set of JUGGS"
