Yes, John two weeks without communication. What did you want, daily e-mails telling you my computer wasn't ready yet? I posted on the message board when the computer went down. I sent out a league-wide e-mail when I got it back. What more do you want? Yes, I see some guys in the league because they play on my ball team or my hockey team. And do you know what I told them? I haven't got my computer back yet. ------ As for the goalie being pulled. Here's the problem. Changing the goalie is not something that is built into the game. I have to do it manually. The game was designed when computers had 386 and 486 processors. The game scrolled by very slowly and it was easy to stop the game at any point. Processors are infinitely faster now. Since I got the new laptop, even on the slowest setting, the game scrolls by so fast it is barely readable. It is very difficult to stop the game mid-game. Three goals can go by in the blink of an eye. In your game against Colorado, by the time I was able to stop the game, both teams were in a position to change goalies and there were only a few minutes left in the game. I can only change one goalie at a time. Then I have to restart the game to change the other. By the time I did that for one team, the game would have been over. So in fairness to both teams, I left the starters in. -------- It was a series of postings and e-mails that I received like this last year that set me off. And now here we are less than a year later and it's starting again. So if you want to quit, be my guest. I don't need the hassle of putting up with cry babies. ---- FYI, Last time I had the computer in, I was told that having an FTP program makes your computer more vulnerable. Because basically when you upload information you're opening a door to your computer to let info out. Stuff can also get in. |

And one more thing. Yes the first time the computer went down, no, I didn't send out an e-mail: 1/ because without my computer I didn't have an address book and I didn't just want to selectively inform those people whose e-mails I could remember; and 2/ when I took it in, I was told it would be three days and I didn't think it was going to be a big deal. Then it was a couple more days, then a couple more and a couple more..... -------- When it stretched out past a week, I got a couple of e-mails (which I picked up by logging in from work). The e-mails were: "Hey, noticed the pool stopped, are you OK?" This would be the response of a decent human being. But it seems to some the hockey pool is more important than the well-being of the guy running the pool. And if you fall into this category, I'd rather not have you in the pool. |

You can't take any negative feed back can you.....so since I am such a horrible human being for voicing my concerns with the league and its crazy scoring year and the fact that you did not tell anyone goalies will be shelled for the last month...... their was communication in past years but i guess since the way you defensively scream back, nobody will talk.... So Gary, find another owner, because this “self-absorbed and horrible person is done” owner is done. I hear Winnipeg and Quebec want a team. It was fun. |

Yes, I can take criticism. All I've ever asked is that you at least contact me first before you start ripping into me publicly. Then if you don't like my answer, then take it to the rest of the league. I don't run this league so that I can be insulted, have my integrity questioned and be a public punching bag for the rest of the league. |

And had you taken the time to send me an e-mail to ask me about the 'crazy' scoring, I could have told you that scoring is actually down this year. Each team averaged 4.02 goals per game last year. This year they have averaged 4.00. The league's leading scorer had 142 points last year, this year has 117. The leading goal scorer had 72 last year, this year has 70. The shutout leader had two last year, this year the leader has four. There were almost double the amount of shutouts this year. ---- And had you taken the time to e-mail me instead of ripping me on the board, I could have explained the issue with the goaltending changes, which have been going on all season, not just in the last month. It had nothing to do with the accelerated schedule. ----- But instead of sending me an e-mail asking what was happening with these, you decided to go public on the board and rip into me and the league without even giving me an opportunity to provide an explanation. |
