What a great website with so much information. I grew up in Ontario but have so many great memories of the Joggins and River Hebert growing up. The question I have is my dad, Joe Legere seems to think the Legere's used the have some land or property I think out toward Ragged Reef he thinks sometime around the war. Anyway if there is anyone that has any information I would greatly appreciated thank you. |

Joe, that would probably have been the Mark Legere property. I think they were the first Legers in Joggins. The land shows up on most of the early maps. My line of Legere came to the community later, about 1900. Mark Legere shows up in the 1880 and may be earlier.
