I am searching my family history. My great grandparents were Edward V. and Alice (Burke) Landry. Alice had a sister Selina (Burke) Comeau, married to Bill Comeau. Alice and Selina's mother ran a boarding house for miners in Joggins. That is how Alice met Edward Ü. Alice's mother was Albina Burbine and father was Fidele Burke. I would love any new information. I have a beautiful picture of Edward with his fellow miners in 1906 or 1907 and would love to share and find out which mine it was. I am told that it may be Victoria Mine. |

That is so awesome Ü The picture is actually Ella Landry, Alice (Burke) Landry`s daughter and my grandmother. Ella was my grandmother and Alice was my great grandmother. I rescanned the miners picture at 300dpi and e mailed it to you this morning. I am working on taking the circle around my great grandfathers face off. |

Dara,Thanks for changing the name on my grandmothers school picture to Ella Ü I was looking at the miner picture and it was taken between 1907 and 1908 not 1920's. I enjoy your web site very much and I wanted to thank you for this view of Joggins history. |
