I just wanted to say that i am a big fan of what i have recently of the reborn "surf music" like jack johnson or sunchild, the problem is, i don't know where to find new bands in this genre, its not like they are on billboard or in rolling stone and i really don't know how to go about findin them, so if anyone knows of any good bands (really, in any genre, but just chill music) then let me know about them so that i can download it(I'm not afraid of the RIAA! well, i am, but i'm fairly well protected, i think) so yeah just tell me some, i need some new bands rather than going even deeper into the classics, which is not a bad thing, but you tend to run out of stuff. |

um....brian, i don't think that Jack Johnson is considered surf music. he's more of a singer songwriter, i think. but if you want REAL surf: Dick Dale is the king of surf guitar!! if you haven't already, check him out! dammit! uh...Man or Astro-Man? is good...The Astronauts, The Atlantics, Bruce & Terry, Al Casey, The Challengers, The Chantays, Clee-Shays, Jerry Cole, Eddie & the Showmen, The Fantastic Baggys, The Honeys, Jan & Dean, Bruce Johnston, The Lively Ones, The Rip-Chords, The Surfaris, The Tornadoes, The Trashmen, Gary Usher, The Ventures...i like surf music. i am a big nerd. i can give you more if you want. |

have you tried mp3.com(or other equally corporate, but free, sites)? it take a few clicks to get to the genre list and then a few more to get to the top downloads or the top streamed songs. it really works quite well with obscure bands or obscure genres. well, toodles. http://halfturn.pitas.com |

I consider jack johnson surf music because he surfs and makes music to use in his surf videos, that is more or less my basis for referring to it as surf music. |

NO. sorry dude-buddy-brian but I am going to have to say no to that. sure maybe he does surf and happen to write music because he surfs.. but when I think of "surf rock" my first responce isn't jack johnson. However that is not the point. the point is that you have to go for the classic surf rock here. CLASSIC! |

you know your point may add validity or just some standard online arguement but for gods sake all you can call yourself is "Me" cut it out. plus fact of it is that emme is fairly well educated on this kind of thing. however you have the right to your opinion on this subject. but next time you insult someone on my forum remember to explain why you have thiese beliefs. |

For example, when mocking jakes inability to spell, you should cite his inability to spell "these" without an "i" |

however as we all know... I can not spell. so that is not a witty new insult. |
