I just wanted to express my deep and profound love for kazaa lite. It is faster and better than the other ones and you don't have the pop up ads or the banner ads especially those dumb ones that make noise. and the download speeds are amazing. that is all.

you better watch out, the riaa is going after kazaa users. and this includes kazaa lite. you better start finding your music another way, kazaa will suffer a bit from the riaa's tactics. you could try the gnutella networks or even bittorrent. laters.

Will they still go after me even if I don't share files? I also set up a completely fake email account at yahoo and registered for kazaa with that one, will thet even be able to find me?

Also, is it enough to not share files or should i remove them from association with kazaa? and one more thing, do yo have any idea how many files you have to have before they go after you, is there like a cutoff or anything(i have over 2100, so its quite a few) also, is morpheus part of gnutella now, it seems like i read that but im not sure? thanks

Of course they can find you. They know exactly where you live. where you sleep. When you sleep. Or at least your ISP does, and as the court case involving Verizon showed, the big RIAA gorilla can know anything it wants to as long as it's in defence of it's copyrights. Of course, the RIAA can't blindly ask ISP's if they have any offenders, but your computer has an id number, so it's not that hard. In sum, your fucked, so just crack open your wallet now. Oh, and last i checked, morpheus was using the Gnutella protocols(protocols are methods computers use talk to each other, it's like sending someone a letter or giving them a call).

right now, the riaa says they are only going after those who share files, so you should be fine, for the time being. we'll see what happens in mid-august, which is when they said they would start prosecuting offenders. patrick's pretty much right about the riaa. they can find you, because your ip address can be determined through kazaa, well, that and netstat, and then they can contact your isp. so just don't share files for the time being, and get a good isp, that won't jump to be on the riaa's good side. xmission, whee.
